About this ebook

In day of long ago, scribes would place news and warning of importance in prominent places for the looking to heed. Today, that tradition is continued by bloggers who accomplish that honored task through the means of advanced electronic communication. Continuing the never ending task he began in “Tweets About Twits”, social theorist Frederick Meekins, in “Broadsides & Portents”, has once more compiled a collection of his most insightful observations regarding the developments of these times.

How come it is inappropriate to ascertain the immigration status of a detained criminal alien but perfectly acceptable to get all tied up in legal knots as to the identity of a foreign ship wanting to assist in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill clean up? Perhaps Obama wants the environment destroyed so America as a whole will be compelled to bend a knee before his image.

On Judge Napolitano‘s Fox News program, the Governor of Pennsylvania denounced the Tea Party movement as a group of angry people the media pays too much attention to. I think he is confusing it with the gay rights movement.

Someone needs to tell Dick Armey to lay off the shoe polish. It goes on the feet, not the head.

A leftist public service announcement remarks how the pills to keep Africans with AIDS alive cost 40 cents per day. Shouldn't Americans with all kinds of diseases and not just those acquired often through morally questionable pursuits get our medications for a similar price or are we not adorably exotic enough?

Will it be pointed out that the flash flood killing 18 innocent campers occurred in a park named after infamous Masonic occultist Albert Pike?

If England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each have a world cup soccer team, shouldn't all 50 American states get to field a squad as well?

Like Doctor Who, Star Trek: Voyager once had an episode (one of the best in the series) that hypothesized that Saurians were the first intelligent life on Earth. Some claim that ET's are reptilian in nature. Should the grand deception go this route, the UFO's might very well claim they are not originally from space but actually returning to their original home, Earth.

The Washington Post is dismissing South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley as a small time agitator. How is that position markedly different than community organizer? By definition, she's not only qualified to be governor but also president if Il Duce is to serve as the inspiration for all Americans.

What penalty would be imposed upon someone grabbing a Congressman by the arm and neck? Then that is the sentence that should be imposed upon Rep. Bob Etheridge for grabbing the arm and neck of a citizen daring to ask him a few questions. The victims should pursue this case.

If illegal aliens don't have to identity themselves to law enforcement when there is probable cause, then American citizens don't have to identify themselves to surly Congressmen who are members of the legislative branch rather than the executive and thus unable to enforce the law.

Too bad that student didn't slap the taste out of that Congressman's mouth.

Would Obama feed his own children seafood from the Gulf of Mexico or is that one of the questions we aren't suppose to ask? And even if it was pristine, wouldn't such violate the commandment he and his consort have handed down to us about Thou shalt eat locally grown?

Does Rush Limbaugh realize wife #4 was only about 13 years old when he started his radio show?

That South Carolina Democratic Senate Candidate Al Green has got to be one of the worst public speakers. However, he could probably speak rings around Obama should the Teleprompter go on strike.

Pundits are speculating that Il Duce's nocturnal oration will declare war against nothing less than modern technology itself.

You'd think a nobody like Congressman Etheridge would just be flattered a youngster would even know who he was.

It has been observed that Obama was more concerned about the rabblerousers on the peace flotilla than the oil rig technicians that died in the explosion.

Actually, is South Carolina candidate Al Green any more inarticulate than Obama court jester, I mean press secretary Robert Gibbs?

Actually, is South Carolina candidate Al Green any more inarticulate than Obama court jester, I mean press secretary Robert Gibbs?

Rush sounds more in love with Elton John than his new wife.

Can someone that tosses multiple millions on a wedding understand the plights of those that scrimp by on social security and are told it needs to be snatched from them since they are the ones supposedly living high on the hog?

If the U.S. government is offering a $25 million reward for Bin Laden, should we really be all condemnatory regarding the mercenary/bounty hunter arrested in Pakistan?

Amazing how the types that think nothing of tossing millions of dollars on a wedding think you are greedy if you'd like to enjoy a few years of retirement from a job you can't stand before you are planted in the ground.

In her $10,000 abstinence speeches, does Bristol Palin plan to inform the audiences that she has gone back to being the concubine of her baby's daddy? It is reported that the unmarried couple are spending nights together under the same roof. Guess Sarah Palin will soon have a second illegitimate grandbaby. Perhaps they can all be up on the platform of the next Republican convention still shacked up.

If Obama thinks it is wrong to detain transnational migrants, shouldn't the President call for the release of bounty hunter Gary Faulkner from Pakistan? The U.S. government can't condemn Faulkner since it is the U.S. government that authorized the bounty.

Obama promises to restore the Louisiana Gulf wetlands. Since a swamp was destroyed to create Washington DC, does this mean he will also help push government back into the muck from which it came?

Greta Van Sustern just mentioned that there was a Mexican drug cartel that, as a display of its power, severed five heads and rolled them across a crowded dance floor. And Obama and Holder are going to insist that Arizona has no right to check ID's of the criminals threatening the people of that border state?

The pelicans, turtles, and dolphins can breath a sigh of relief (that is if their little lungs aren't filled with slimy goop). Obama has established a commission.

China might be investing in clean technologies but they are also expanding there petroleum exploration operations.

Parkland closed to Americans because it has been infiltrated by Mexican drug dealers should be turned into a minefield.

Anyone crossing the southern border unauthorized should be shot on-site.

From what I've seen on one website, Sarah Palin's fanatics are nearly as dangerous for the United States as the Obamaphiles.

Contrary to what I've been told by certain Palinites, there is no provision to the First Amendment stipulating that one must serve in the military before exercising the provisions of free speech.

Val Kilmer's neighborhood doesn't sound much different than the Metropolitan Washington Area.

Maybe what I write is riddled with typographic errors. Maybe if these grammar fetishists had only a single, partially functioning eye strained by the end of the day, perhaps their own columns wouldn't be quite so pristine. O, wait, they don't write any. They only nitpick the technicalities of others.

I guess the Blacks that conspire to have Whites (am I racist for capitalizing both names) fired from their jobs don’t have a racial chip on their shoulders.

Perhaps the schools I've attended haven't been top of the line. However, the Ivy League has been more of a hindrance than a help to the spiritual state of this nation for at least the past few decades and it could be argued for nearly a century now.

Apparently Obama's ego has been deemed a greater national security necessity than winning the war.

Solstice yoga session are permitted to clog New York walkways and sidewalks. Bet a prayer meeting wouldn’t be permitted to get by with such nonsense.

Mexico joined a lawsuit insisting that the Arizona immigration law is unconstitutional. Third Word slum regimes have no business dictating to the United States what our own constitution means, especially when Mexico’s own record on human rights is less than exemplary.

As Glenn Beck laments, he might never make as much as Al Gore. However, the retirees Beck wants to snatch pensions and Social Security will never make as much as Glenn Beck even though he paints a picture as if most seniors are living high on the hog.

Glenn Beck remarked that the Davis Bacon Act was passed for fear that Blacks would work for a lower wage. Will see pigs fly before that would happen these days.

In a CSPAN interview regarding his book To Save America, Newt Gingrich applauded Frau Obama's obesity efforts. I don't think the former speaker has missed too many meals or in between snacks for that matter.

Regarding the massage therapist claiming Al Gore came onto her, what do you think is going to happen when you start rubbing all over a 3/4's naked man in his hotel room?

Contrary to what Albert Mohler insinuates, why is it the fault of men these days that uppity women are so materialistic that they won't marry someone that they look down their noses at along the occupational hierarchy? Interesting he never has any guilt to load upon women thinking they are too good to work within the home.

Rather fitting Obama and the Russian dictator would sup in a place called Hell Burger.

Contrary to Bannon Howse of Worldview Weekend, though one may question Alex Jones appearance on Russian television, there is nothing in Scripture bringing the sincerity of one's Christian faith in question if one agrees with a number of positions advocated by Alex Jones.

In California, welfare debit cards have been used in state casinos. Theoretically, one should track back who was given what card and cut their benefits since it is obvious they do not need the assistance for necessities such as food, shelter and utility bills.

Montgomery County, Maryland parks plan to eliminate outhouses. And then the environmentalists will wonder why folks will be downloading in the bushes. One imbecile couldn't even aim his strafing run with a provided target, his bombing deliberately going off course onto the restroom floor.

If the federal government is going to boycott Arizona, isn't this defacto reverse secession?

Shenandoah Caverns is being advertised as low tech entertainment. I guess the elevator lowering visitors into the formation and the light bulbs illuminating the paths formed
