About this ebook

Jill Malone has been looking for love for all the wrong reasons. A reality check has her signing up for a no-strings attached night to simply forget about forever after. The last thing she expected was to know her blind date.

Blake Anders doesn’t need help finding a date, but he’s tempted by 1Night Stand’s reputation of arranging exactly what a person needs. And he needs more. Though doubtful, he agrees to one night and hopes to discover his perfect match. He didn’t count on Madame Eve reaching deep into his past to give him a night with the woman he never forgot.

Fearing another broken heart, Jill works to keep herself from becoming attached, but Blake goes all in to convince her that he wants their long-overdue love to be more than a one-night stand...

As you can tell from the number/various genres of books I’ve reviewed, I’m a rather avid Book Reviewer and my favorite genre is that of romance. It is for this reason I sometimes like to savor taking a break from a full-length novel to reading one which I can read as I have a cherry danish with a cup of my Joe, black and sweet. So I’m glad I ran across this endeavor by Ms. Tara Andrews. You know you’ve read a decent short story if you find it well-written with characters which are developed. In addition, if, as you read it, the storyline triggers a memory in your mind then you’ve found a hit. “Long Overdue” is such a story; for as I read it, I couldn’t help but hear “Looking for Love” by Johnny Lee, playing in my mind. But unlike the song which is in the man’s POV, this story is from the mother’s POV; however Jill Malone was looking for love in the wrong places, it was for the wrong reason.Having been decimated from a failed engagement which Jill had thought would be her HEA, she reluctantly agrees to sign up with a dating service which specializes in no-strings attached 1-night stands at the urging of one her friends. While, one night stands are great, especially since you can have a steamy relationship with the opposite sex, hopefully forget a painful past romantic interlude, and knowing there will be no on-going commitment the next morning; Jill had never experience one. There’s a sort of KISMET between Jill and Blake, since Jill was a friend of one of his previous love interests. Jill is the type of woman Blake has always wanted, but she’s now fearful of becoming attached and being hurt again.I can see the reason the author has chosen Long Overdue as the title of this endeavor; however, I feel, given the storyline, a better title would have been, “These Two Were Made For Each Other.”For having given me a quick very enjoyable reading experience this morning at breakfast, with just the right amount of steamy sex, I’m giving Ms. Andrews 5 STARS.

To my wonderful husband for making this possible.

Chapter One

I’m telling you, you need to call and arrange a date, Melanie insisted.

Sex with a stranger, you mean? With a dating service called 1Night Stand, the name spoke for itself. Not that Jill disliked dating services per se, but her experience with cyber matching left her rather disappointed.

No. To live a little.

"Live? You want me to meet up with some random man in a hotel? I’m likely to wind up some tragic headline. Desperate woman killed in her quest to get some."

Don’t be crass. Her friend shook her head, dismissing the concern.

Crass? This coming from someone trying to pimp me out.

It’s not what you’re thinking. It’s very legitimate. Extensive background checks are done before any dates are set. Very safe, I assure you. Spoken like the expert she wasn’t. Ever since her co-worker came back from Vegas, in love and swearing by the agency, Melanie had turned into a walking infomercial.

Too bad Melanie’s happily married status prevented Jill from suggesting she give it a whirl. Where did it leave her? Oh, yeah, trying to get her friend to drop the idea altogether. I’m fine. I don’t need another dating service.

They stopped at an intersection and waited for the light to change. The buzz of
