Hollywood Heat would be a real page turner had I not been reading it electronically. There were no pages to turn. As it was, I only cancelled one appointment to read it in one sitting. Riveting is a good word for it.
There are a LOT of characters to keep straight but they all contribute to the story. They are well-drawn and the action is vivid. The prose was occasionally a little flowery for my taste but I would certainly seek out more writing by this author and recommend it for fans of hard-boiled crime tales.
