I LAUGHED TILL I CRIED WHEN I FIRST SAW THAT MEME
If you’re familiar with social media on any level, you’ll have seen the meme claiming that although we think we’re a smarter breed these days, if you look at the evidence, that may not really be the case. The proof of this, the meme continues, is that in the 1960s, a vehicle’s owner’s manual showed you how to set the valve clearances in your engine. Fast forward to 2022, and the mainstream advice in the owner’s manual is a warning not to drink the contents of the battery.
It’s a fair assessment of the type of slack-jawed, mouth-breathing couch-dwellers some of us have become. Don’t bother thinking for yourself, we’ll leave that up to the manufacturers of whatever crapola products you consume in the normal course of a year.
I laughed till I cried when I first saw that meme, but I recently picked up a Ford test-ute only to discover the rot has really set in.
