Chapter One

Furious, Ellecia slammed her champagne flute down on the table. She winced, looked at it quickly then relaxed once she saw it wasn’t broken or cracked. This set-up was a mistake, but how could she refuse her boss, especially when Alexandra had already paid for everything?

Look, said Alexandra, I know you’re not happy about this, but just hear me out. Number one, the entire trip is paid in full, and two, if you don’t do something to relax, you’re going to either have a heart attack or blow up your vibrator. Ever since I found you in my swimming pool nine years ago, you’ve been on a quest to find the right man to scratch that infernal itch of yours.

I can’t help it that I’m a Lightmaiden! Ellecia gritted her teeth. More champagne—now!

An exasperated sigh escaped Alexandra. Oh, honey, you know that’s not what I mean.

Ellecia picked up her glass and strode to the mini bar in their private dining room. Castillo Resorts and Hotels was one of her favorite places to patronize, but this one in Pittsburgh was the smallest and the most intimate she’d ever visited. Whenever Alex wanted something special from Ellecia, she knew renting this chamber with its rustic fireplace was the best way to work on her resolve.
