    Nice place, said Tommy Hardwick.

We enjoy it, Amy or Amanda said.

Sit down and make yourself at home.

Which one was that? What difference did it make?

If Tommy had to tell the truth, he would have said the flat was small, a little on the shabby side, but what the hell, he wasn't shopping for a new apartment. And he knew from past experience that truth got in the way with women.

Twins, for Christ's sake. The fulfillment of a lifelong fantasy. He didn't plan on blowing it because their place turned out to be a smallish walk-up in a shitty neighborhood. He had been looking at the Strip and all its neon for the past three days and nights. Now, it was time to see some skin. Not up on stage, like at the dinner show, but close enough to touch ... or taste.

    You want some wine?

    Sounds good.

He didn't need it, but the more they drank, the better Tommy's chances were of pulling off a double-header. Two for one, goddammit, and they weren't just twins, they were identical. Both knockouts. Honey-blond, with bodies that reminded him of Playboy's Miss September.

He was running movies in his head, imagining the two of them together, cutting to a shot with both of them on top of him, when Amy or Amanda brought the wine.

    Is red all right?

    My favorite.

They sat on either side of him, a little crowded on the sofa, but he wasn't bitching. Nice and warm, the way they pressed against him. Tits, hips, thighs. He felt like the bologna in a happy sandwich.

So, I still don't know your names, he said.

We told you at the club. I'm Amy, coming from his left.

And I'm Amanda. On his right.

    "I mean your last name."

They exchanged a glance and smiled at one another, mellow and seductive-like.

Let's keep it friendly, said Amanda.

    Casual, said Amy.

Fine by me. I figured since you knew my name and all .... He left the comment dangling, didn't want to push it.

Tommy Hardwick, said Amanda, stretching out his surname so that it became two words. I hope there's truth in advertising.

No complaints so far, he told her, shifting slightly to accommodate the swelling in his shorts.

    You been in Vegas long?

Since Thursday, Tommy said. I come out three, four times a year. On business.

Monkey business, I expect, Amanda said.

    Well, now ....

    Are you a gambler, Tommy?

Am I ever. Putting on a big smile, nice and casual. I do all right, he said.

    I'll bet you do.

Let's play a game, said Amy.

Hey, I'm up for that. His best cool grin, just making sure they got it.

    Poker, Amy said.

    Right now?

"The card game," Amy told him, giggling.

"You do know how to play?" Amanda asked him.

Sure. It wasn't what I had in mind, is all.

    "Strip poker," Amy said.

    Hey, now you're talking.

Get the cards, Amanda told her sister.

Tommy watched her go and felt an urge to follow, maybe see the rest of the apartment. Find out what the bedrooms looked like. He restrained himself by concentrating on Amanda, looking forward to the game.

You play strip poker properly, nobody loses.

So, he said, you hang out on the Strip a lot?

Depends, Amanda said. Sometimes we just get in the mood, you know?

It crossed his mind that maybe they were working girls, the way they'd picked him out in the Sahara's cocktail lounge, but at the moment Tommy didn't care. He had been smoking at the blackjack table, up two grand from Friday afternoon. He could afford a fantasy. And if the twins
