    Chapter 1

God will answer if He hears

Have you ever prayed and felt as though God just wasn’t listening? I believe all of us have felt this way at one time or another. A friend of mine preached a message that absolutely revolutionized my thinking on unanswered prayer and how to get my prayers answered. I was amazed as my friend explained that it isn’t about getting to God to answer prayer....it’s about getting God to hear our prayer.

This will be the topic of this first chapter. Then I will show you how the three stranded cord ties into this. Let’s look at the scripture to confirm this teaching of God hearing our prayer.

"Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me."Joh 11:41-42

In this passage we see that Jesus Himself realized that God hears him. He didn’t thank God for answering his prayer, He thanked Him for hearing His prayer. Jesus knew that if His prayer was heard, it would be answered. Let’s look at some more scriptures on God hearing:

"Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;" Heb 5:7

Solomon understood that he needed God to hear his prayer:

    "Yet have thou respect
