About this ebook

Senaclia is a highly developed, bio-technological planet. Under
Hetan's leadership, the planet has become the leading force of the
Third Quadrant of the Cosmos. Unlike Senaclia, Vanterna, a neighboring
planet ruled by Supreme, has very limited findings of maneya, a
valuable resource that (maintains the mighty mothercores and) powers
the Universe itself. Still, the Vanternians have kept a true knowledge
of nature and magic. While the two systems are at war for domination,
a dark shadow is cast over the entire Cosmos. The seven Quarts have to
unite and enemies have to become allies in order to achieve a formula
of the great man and rescue the Universe. Events unravel beginnings of
an ancient Cosmic legend, a story about two brothers who started the
Universe and then parted their ways. One took path of assimilation and
the other the one of evolution, a long time ago, when the
civilizations were mere embryos and the Earth was inhabited by
dinosaurs. The story ended here, in the present, and in the ancient
past for the Senaclian society. This is the first of six parts.

    Chapter 1

Hetan 21, presiding over the High Council of Senaclia According to the military intelligence estimations, general Geres stated seriously and pointed towards a holographic map of Senaclia, we could expect an attack from the neighbouring Vanterna. I draw the conclusion from a fact that, according to our data, Supreme is supporting the rebellion in Thenera province. General Geres was joined by scientist Kortan, who stood up from his chair and slowly walked towards the large holographic map, opposite of a round table. Yes, as the leading scientist, I would agree with the military estimations. During the last 600 supras, Kortan continued, as the other nine members of the Council listened carefully, Supreme has probably procured the necessary amount of maneya. Now, she’s trying to break our defensive system. Supreme could attempt to enter over the mothercore, through a minor gateway, by using an interstellar calculus. Based on the energy of the ray, we estimate she possesses a biological mothercore of 500 to 600MM. Listening carefully, Geres supported the scientist, If she delivers the coda to rebel Treder and links the corridors, she could breach our defences. Holosko, the wealthiest Senaclian and one of the Council members, joined the conversation, There’s, hmm, a problem. Since Maneya has a single core, would that mean that Supreme could affect every one of us? The ten Council members turned silent, brooding on the presented arguments. For a brief moment, an almost tangible tension filled the room. Yes, the nucleus itself, as well as the maneyan coda, haven’t yet been discovered, as you all well know. Still, we hold a justified belief that the enemy scientists couldn’t have advanced further in their research than we have. We are still more powerful, the silence was interrupted by scientist Kortan who proudly proceeded with clarifying his opinion, the biological system we have developed and encoded has made Senaclia the wealthiest and strongest planet of the Third Quart. The presented risk has been expected, as well as included into our estimations. Geres looked at Kortan and concluded resolutely, As the leading official of Senaclian defence, I am convinced that we possess sufficient power and strength to maintain our dominant position in the quadrant and prevent delivery of the coda.

After those assuring words, Hetan, the presiding official, ended the delicate discussion, Alright, general Geres is going to solve the problem and inform the Council about it at our next session. After Hetan’s determined conclusion, Geres and Kortan returned to their seats. The Council continued with other topics of the day.

Kerter, the leading parliamentary official for finances, started his report on the current status of Senaclian economy. Production is increasing constantly. Our economy is well-balanced; we could almost say it functions perfectly. Due to the desirable economical circumstances, our newest budget calculations show that the higher fiscal surpluses have already provided enough resources for the new intergalactic station, without any need for introducing additional taxes. Other Council members looked at a hologram of a huge, imposing intergalactic platform.

Work of the Council prolonged into the night.

Planet V2 or Vanterna, same time

Royal airship, model V 13, flew towards the province of Neja. Its flight coordinates were adjusted to a stellar route E 23-12, leading towards the north of Vanterna. Our neighbours progress steadily while our planet stagnates, Supreme initiated a conversation harshly, looking at video recordings of Senaclia, they are building a biotechnological society and tall edifices, their industry is robotised, while vintage oil-powered vehicles are merely exhibits in the museums. At the same time, we are still constructing stone buildings and our people farm manually, while hover-cars are a privileged rarity, available only to the wealthiest. She kept silent for a moment and then self-righteously continued, while her assistants, Vitrina and Vetrena, were nodding with approval, Still, we have built a fine army; we are feared because they cannot know how strong we actually are. This is why Geres has spent supras in creating a war state psychosis, as he usually does. Supreme smiled as she watched Geres on the recordings, entering an imposing, 1500m tall, building of the Senaclian intergalactic and military centre.

Supreme, along with Vitrina and Vetrena – her main assistants, continued analysing the footages of Senaclia. Recordings shifted to a blonde, tall, handsome man. It was Hetan. They watched him for a moment, as he was casually strolling down a southern beach of Senacl, laughing elatedly. He waved to a young woman. Supreme commented angrily, with cynical grin on her face, One day I will remove him from his throne, just as he has banished me. I’m a greater sorcerer than he is. Well, well, not even thousands of MMs of maneya will protect him, not even the mothercore itself, the mothercore he clings to so dearly, Supreme contently concluded the brief monologue. Her assistants continued to look at control monitors. The main monitor showed the province of Neja, a huge desert area transected by a black road. The road was connecting the regional administrative centre of Karak and its hundred thousand of inhabitants with the metropolitan capital. I believe we could build a water-supply system and provide this area with water from a lake about 500 kilometres away. That should make the desert fertile, said Vetrena while analysing data on the scanner, after we successfully dispersed the TR 12, the conditions for fertility have been reached. Supreme wasn’t listening to Vetrena. She continued observing the records of Senaclia, angry at herself for governing such a primitive planet. Link us to Treder, Supreme ordered. As you command, my Queen Vetrena obliged immediately.

Few brief moments later Treder appeared on the monitor. After a customary courteous bow, Treder spoke modestly, Your humble servant pays his respect, what can I do for you? Treder was a dark, strong man of untidy appearance, partially due to a fact that he had spent the last 1000 supras in the uncharted Senaclian province of Thenera. He patiently waited for Supreme’s response, Have you found new sources of Maneya Treder responded promptly, Unfortunately, no, my Queen. Of course, except of our regular shipment of 30 t. Working conditions are harsh, we don’t have the necessary equipment… Supreme listened to Treder and his typical excuses. When she gave him instructions for the shipment, Treder wanted to continue but was interrupted by a click. Supreme broke the video link.

30 t. makes for 300 g of biological substrate and provides energy for 10 gers. With this amount of our own sources we will have to continue purchasing Maneya from the space merchants, at their high prices, Supreme concluded restlessly. In the meantime, scanners detected a merchant ship from the planet DE 41, flying above the royal airship. Vitrina routinely scanned the contents of its cargo load, As usual, they’ve bought Dena, a rough raw material for manufacturing fine metals. Supreme continued to ponder, melancholically observing the vast desert area around them.

Alright, let’s return home, a vessel, biologically linked to Supreme’s brain, instantly responded to her concentrated thought and departed towards Veyna, the metropolitan capital of Vanterna. In half a zver, the vessel navigated over 15000 km, or about one fifth of the planet. After smooth landing on the polygon, Supreme, Vitrina and Vetrena exited the vessel and proceeded towards the palace by a hover-car. They needed to attend to necessary preparations for the Farmak.

1 ger is 1 day in the 3rd quadrant of the cosmos. Supra has 32 gers and makes up for 1 short year. 1 ger has 128 zvers or hours, 1 zver has 32 Vens or minutes, while Mivens are seconds and there are 32 Mivens in 1 Ven. 1024 supras make up for one period, or Quart.

    Senaclia, the capital palace

After the morning exercises and his regular visit into the mothercore, Hetan 21 began with his inspection tour around Senaclia, planned for the day. Exactly at 45 zver, he arrived by an elevator to the top of a 1700 meters tall capital building, the highest structure in entire 3rd Quadrant of the Cosmos. As he inserted the coda and the identity of his Maneyan card was checked, a grand cupola opened. Hetan’s royal vessel raised in a single solemn tone. The vessel, model H13, of triangular shape, 30 meters long and 13 wide, presented the technological perfection of the 3rd Quadrant of the Cosmos.

Hetan entered the first chamber of the royal airship, put on his light-silver pilot suit and commenced mental preparations for the flight. He gradually integrated his consciousness into the vessel over the ubiquitous maneya. The moment he had put on his half-circled pilot helmet, the vessel livened up and enjoyable voice of the mothercore appeared, I wish you a pleasant journey, my master. Round doors opened. Hetan entered the command room, sat into his chair and said, We are beginning a tour around the Empire, mother. Hetan telepathically targeted his thoughts into an orb of maneya, or the mothercore. The ship took off instantly, powered by the concentrated energy of Hetan’s mind, which was in turn connected to maneya - the main energy source and the mothercore – brain of the entire system.

Hetan observed Senacl from an altitude of about 2500 metres, relaxed. Images of the city were reproduced on one half of the great intelligent maneyan monitor. Hetan enjoyed the magnificent panoramic view of Senacl, a city with over 100 million inhabitants. The second half of the monitor reflected interlinked energy currents of maneya, complex and perplexing array of networks and shapes, gradually assorted into more simple ones and eventually organised into elementary triangles, squares and circles. The mothercore arranged energies according to the codas and regulations of the maneyan algebra. After a brief analysis, the mothercore confidently said, Senacl is functioning perfectly, the point has been confirmed.

At the same time, Hetan’s consciousness narrowed into a single dot. The so called acceleration had been achieved, maneya expanded and all possible economic and social crises were instantly diverted. The energy monitor showed bluish waves expanding in concentric circles all around Senaclia, as Hetan used his biologically balanced mind to distribute maneyan energy in its spiritual form. Regular operation has been completed, the mothercore concluded calmly. The monitor showed entire Senacl, spreading over the great estuary of Nakena River, under an imposing massif 7000 meters tall.

Proceed to Gera, the king ordered to his mothercore. Alright, my lord, responded the mothercore and directed the ship towards the Gera province. The vessel was flying at high speed. Half a zver later they reached impressive time gates erected on a huge platform, 3000 m tall and 1000 m in radius. The gates were surrounded with magnetic pathways, pointing towards ten primary directions and creating a grid around entire Senaclia. Hetan observed the planetary entrance and asked for a cross-section of intergalactic flights. The mothercore responded after brief calculations and sent the results directly into Hetan’s mind. Over five hundred flights per day made Senacl the centre of the 3rd Quadrant. Hetan expanded his consciousness once again and entered a great maneyan virtual world, which had opened in the orb. He analysed billions of human thoughts and emotions, presented as a variety of colours and shades, flashes and various shapes, inside the collective and omnipresent consciousness of the mothercore. A glancing overview shows no presence of the dangerous ones, the mothercore concluded. Hetan exited the mild trance during which his body had been numb and his bodily functions slowed down. Dazed by the power of collective energy, Hetan rubbed his eyes and stretched on the chair.

I agree with the estimation, mother. Supreme has not been sending her agents. Proceed towards Maskia. If the inspection had uncovered any agents, they would have appeared as wandering red or blue dots in the thought spectres. Hetan sat steadily on his little throne, while the mothercore navigated the ship further south.

Hetan 21 was proudly observing beautiful, almost fictional landscapes of his planet. One half of Senaclia was covered with fertile and ecologically clean surfaces, forests, meadows, lakes and rivers, while the other half was under a black sea with no islands. Grand and architecturally balanced cities were integrated into their natural environment. Along with its robotised industry and magnetic pathways, the planet caused admiration to all visitors. To them, Senaclia was a role-model of a highly biological, well-organised society. The planet’s architecture formed a shape of a great concentric ring, while all land surfaces were linked in a unique whole, shaped as a horizontal letters.

We are approaching the Maskia province, the mothercore politely warned Hetan, who was still romantically enjoying the landscapes, listening to Tejan’s fiddle octets. The monitor presented the Maskia province, its great mines and magnetic pathways transporting maneya all around the planet. How much is the registered output? Hetan asked seriously and observed the numbers. About a thousand tons, responded the mothercore, as Hetan analysed yellow contours. What are estimations of unregistered tons? asked Hetan as he
