Prologue
My name is Jouzu Kuroi. I’m just an average 12th grade student, which attends school at Rose High. I never really thought anything interesting could ever happen to me. I was wrong…
Chapter 1
There I stood in a field of beautiful flowers. The smell seemed to call the butterflies to swarm around. Clear skies, no danger, and no worries. It couldn’t have been better.
The sun began to vanish into the darkening sky. Flowers began to wilt and die. Butterflies fell from where they where perched. The ground began to sink into oblivion until nothing remained.
A wonderful voice echoed from where the sky once was. The voice grew louder and louder. Soon I could feel my eyes were closed. A thundering roar began to bounce through the darkness from where the ground use to stand. From the heavens a massive beam of light shot through. Then, there was neither sound nor sight, not even a light. I began the think that this was the end but, then there it was. The light shined forth and expelled the dark.
Once my eyes focused, I saw the land. The flowers was gone. There was no grass, no bugs, or animals at all. It rose from the dead earth on which I stood. Bloody and deformed. Gashes on the sockets where its eyes once were. Long spiked like fingers. Its flesh was stretched and ripped were it grew far to fast. Blood and drool mixed as it ran down it’s fang like teeth. The abomination charged at me. It raised its huge arm in the air and swung towards me. My eyes closed for impact.
BZZZZZ!!!!! The loud annoying buzzing noise hit my ears. I awoke to find myself almost late fro school. Jumping to my feet I gathered my things for school and headed out the door. I was just in time to catch one of my friends Hen Shiroi coming to meet me. Hey, are you ready to head to school?
Hen asked. Yeah let’s get going.
I replied as we began to walk down the road.
On our way to school everyone was looking u into the sky. I didn’t notice until Hen told me about it. Looking up I then see it. Bright colorful lights light up the sky in a multitude of colors. They looked like the northern lights and a rainbow mixed together and ever changing. It was truly a beautiful sight. But, I didn’t care much about them.
School was pretty much the same. The only strange thing is I couldn’t take my eyes from the sky all day. All the beautiful colors seemed to mesmerize and draw me in. I couldn’t explain it at all. Nothing seemed out of pace. Scientists around the world just said it was only particles in the air reflecting the sun light. Different religious leaders all around the world said the lights were an envoy of the end of the world. It really didn’t matter to me at all, just like most things. I just enjoyed gazing out the window at the ever changing colors.
Without even thinking about it the school day ended. I was on my way home when a strange chill came to the air. Pulling my sleeves over my hands, I continue on my way home. The wind began to blow harder. Limbs bent over the streets. I looked up into the sky in time to see the lights swirl together. The center of them began to glow brighter. I couldn’t move. My muscles froze solid. Then he glowing grew out of control. A beam of crimson light burst through and landed directly on me. Pain shot through me. It hurt so bad I couldn’t even scream. I thought I was dead for sure. Then it was over.
The next morning I awoke in my bed. I didn’t know what happened. Even
