About this ebook

Cheshire doesn't think himself very bright because of dust in his head fluff and stuff. Jay is now 11-years-old so Jay's trying to put away his "baby stuff." Meanwhile, Jay's little sister, Tricia, brings new and somewhat real adventures into Cheshire's life. He wonders how she got here noticing Jay's Mom was fat then suddenly flat. Tricia is the one which gets him out of the house when they go to visit her in the hospital.
Cheshire and the Magic Squares is written first-person through the eyes of Cheshire. Cheshire being bored escapes to a magical kingdom called the Land of the Forgotten where he meets some unusual friends.
At which point, he learns new games and becomes the amazing detective Cheshire Homes but not before he learns what a snickerfit is.
There is a note at the end to parents which explains the inspiration of the story--and also gives a warning.

    Chapter 1: Hello

When we were leaving the hospital Grandma had me wave 'bye bye' to a man in a glass cube called a parking attendant. Everybody laughed.

I had a whole lot of fun at the hospital (but I don't think Tricia did.) There was something about waving at the parking attendant, when his mother laughed, I felt like I had done something very very good. But I still don't know what it was.

The Tricia (the blonde girl's name) did bring some excitement to the place when she arrived. How she arrived was sort of interesting too. Or what happened before and after she came.

Jay's mom looked like someone had over-stuffed her with fluff. Then when she brought Tricia home she was flat. I wondered if someone had sat on her in a lawn chair.

Anyway, the Tricia had something called open heart surgery. Jay did explain it to me. He put pieces of paper all over me that he taped together in a tubular shape (like cardboard paper towel or toilet paper holders.) They looked something like garden hoses, but he didn't color them green.
