    Chapter One: Uriel

I had on my favorite nightie that day, a long purple one, all see-through to show off my thong. I didn’t have a boob job like most of the girls there. No need for it. Some of us are just plain gifted. It was noon, not our peak time, but you never know when the guys will want some. Robby runs a tight ship at the Chattel. He keeps us on our toes. The intercom in my room beeped, the signal to head down to the lobby for a line-up. I snapped my book shut and slipped on my heels. I hate heels, but some things are expected and there’s no getting around them.

Prissy was the first to get snatched up. No big deal really. Guys go for blondes, especially bleached ones. She winked at me and took her guy’s hand, leading him down the hall to her room.

There were two guys left. I was kinda lazy that day, so I didn’t really flaunt it like I usually do. Coke Bottle Glasses chose Veronica. They giggled at each other and headed off.

The last guy didn’t walk the line like most did. He stood against the bar, sipping his drink and eyeing us like he wanted a particular thing. I eyed him right back. Tall guy, dark skin, and shifty black eyes. He had a large mouth with lips a girl could get lost kissing. His eyebrows were thick, his jaw set and strong-looking. When he turned to pay for his drink, I smiled. I like guys with long hair, and he had a braid hanging halfway down his back. For a sec, I thought about undressing him, untying that braid and combing my fingers through his hair. His clothes hid his shape, but his shoulders were broad.

Last Guy stood and strode toward
