Many authors have already published on the situation of electronic book-culture in Hungary in printed, as well as digital format. Beside presenting these I will also introduce my own e-book guide, the differences between the digital and the print edition, and the consequences that can be drawn from the impact of the two editions. My blog highlights that culture created from digital platforms can only be interpreted within the context of traditional culture. The research of the dimensions of the Googletenberg-galaxy have only begun, even though the world of books is changing at a rapid pace.

Most of chapters centre on library. It is a real challenge for libraries to lend not only printed books, but also electronic documents. The publication reveals the difficulties of e-book borrowing that are on the one hand technical and on the other hand relate to intellectual property rights questions. The expectations of the actors involved in the process are different: the needs of the publishers, the librarians and the readers are distinct. Beside library-based solutions the author draws the attention to business-based book lending which is not free of charge, such as text-leasing, and text distribution. The free offer of big e-book-shops, or the partial access to the text of the books can be seen as a form of lending.

Chapter1 – Bevezető

„Az e-book nem végállomás, a könyv-expressz robog tovább."

Ezzel a mondattal zárult az első hazai e-könyv összefoglaló. 2010 szeptemberét írtuk. Azóta megjelent az e-book kalauz, a téma kisenciklopédiájának nevezett tanulmányom. Közben sok írás, feljegyzés keletkezett, ezek nagy részét a Könyvkonnektor blogon tettem elérhetővé.

Meglepett, milyen sokan olvassák ezeket a kis feljegyzéseket. Mi több, bár az összehasonlítás nem egészen klappol, az is tény: a blogot többen olvassák, mint az e-book kalauzt. Pedig a könyvet árulják a nagy könyvesboltokban printben, és a Kossuth Kiadónál e-könyvként is.

A bejegyzések iránti érdeklődés alapján összeállítottam a blog-írások első sorozatát, és most ebben az e-könyvben adom közre. Fontos: a bejegyzések nagy része (nem mindegyik) megtalálható a Könyvkonnektoron, tehát szabadon elérhető. Igaz, ebben a gyűjteményes összeállításban a bejegyzéseket újraszerkesztettem, aktualizáltam, témakörök szerint csoportosítottam. Tehát alaposabb és teljesebb szöveget kap az olvasó.

Az írásokat az alábbi témakörök szerint csoportosítottam:

e-könyv: általában az e-könyv kultúra hazai jelenségei, történései

e-könyv-olvasó: az e-readerek, tehát az olvasó eszközök forgalmazása, technikai újdonságai, használatának fogásai

e-könyvtár: az e-könyvek kölcsönzése, könyvtári kezelése

e-könyv-kiadás/forgalmazás

A témakörökön belül kronológiai sorrendben követik egymást az írások.

Elektronikus dedikáció

Egy újítás és már régi témám, de nem sikerült megoldani. Talán most igen, ebben a kiadásban. Szeretném a könyvet dedikálni elektronikusan. Print könyvnél ez egyszerű dolog, az első oldalak valamelyikén van mindig hely néhány kézzel írt, egyedi mondatra. Ebben bőven volt részem az utóbbi hónapokban. Megjegyzem, nem mindig egyszerű új, a helyzetre és a kérő személyre egyénített néhány mondat, szó kitalálása. És nincs rá idő, azonnal írni kell. Viszont kárpótlás, hogy a szerző biztos lehet: legalább ezeket a rövidke sorokat biztos elolvassák a műből.
