About this ebook
“The land of my Korean ancestors was invaded and occupied by the Heavenly Emperor.
The land of the ancestors of Native Americans was invaded and occupied by the Heavenly Settlers.”
This narrative nonfiction tells how I began to commune with Mother Nature and realize my strong affinity to Native Americans during my healing.
Maybe Mother Nature speaks through the soil?

YoonOk had her near-death from the brain aneurysm rupture. After more than one month of hospitalization in the ICU, she came home with many setbacks. When she felt she had NO hope and NO life, her backyard welcomed her to start new life~~~a new chapter. By working in the soil, planting seeds, and connecting to mother earth, she asked herself, "Who am I?". With her feet and her two hands, like roots, connecting with the warmth of the mother soil, she dug up the soil to plant the seeds of love and healing. In the same way she dug up in her garden, she dug up the story of her mother and her grandmother while the history of her birth land, Korea, lingers in the background. Dig up untold stories through her grandma's eyes~~~through the mother soil. She now realizes that her family story is a part of history--not separate from it. This was how she started writing her stories through the dark emotions and despair. This is to understand the art of healing and our roots. Through the rootedness from the plants, she now feels the soil. Her stories are from her heart and her soul through the mother earth~~~the soil.

Singing for the Tears of the Moon
Do you know why you are here on this planet at this time?
In 1994, I came to Albany, New York. I took an airplane, for the first time, from Korea. I did NOT know anyone, but just had dreamed of getting a Ph.D. When I was packing, my friend, Mee-Jung, asked me what the last thing was that I wanted to do before leaving my native land, South Korea. I told her that I wanted to see a movie.
A few days before my departure from Korea, my friend and I saw the movie, The Last of the Mohicans. In the movie, the main character—Hawkeye—said, You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you. No matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you.
Strangely, I felt strong sensation that he was speaking to me even if it was just a movie.
After the movie, my friend and I went to my favorite ManDoo (aka. dumplings)
