I started writing in college and was published in the college literary publication. That gave me the "bug" for writing.I graduated from Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio, with a BA in history and political science and did graduate work in history at Bowling Green State University. My memberships included the Ohio Historical Society and Phi Alpha Theta (history honor society). With over thirty years experience in using Apple computers and programming, it is a natural evolution to writing a book on web design. Now, in my second career, I have taken up the pen again and written two novels and am working on three new nonficton projects. The completion of Web Design: Using iWeb is my first book to reach the market and is available in all ebook formats. Look for ISBN 978-1-4524-6872-3 to find the format you need. Please check my blog on writing and retirementI will try to keep it current and interesting. Introduction
Welcome to the world of web design! In a very short time, you will be building your own professional-looking website. Having your own website can expand your personal and professional presence on the web. You can link your website, blog and Facebook page into an interlocked grouping that gives you and your contacts a professional and impressive web identity. Using iWeb® makes it fast and easy to do on your own.
Why create your own web site?
There are many reasons for creating your own web site. If you are engaged in any business from your own lawn service to house painting or running a small store, having your own site that you manage and control will help establish your presence in the community.
If you are involved in a volunteer organization or church, you can supply a web site for your club or organization very reasonably and have fun maintaining it for the group.
In today’s world, families and friends are often living in different parts of the world. A family web site can be a great way to keep in touch with each other and share photos and events. Consider having a blog page for each family member where they can post entries and photos relating to their activities and thoughts. Each blog can be a different theme, which reflects the individual personality of the writer. The combined web site will help to inform other family members across the country or around the world of what is happening back home.
This could be especially helpful to military families.
