    Introduction

In order to become a free spirit, we first have to identify the ways in which we are being held prisoner. We build our prisons out of our beliefs and attitudes, and the locks are our fears.

In order to set ourselves free, we have to acknowledge and face our fears, so that we can move to another perspective and enhance our understanding of both ourselves, and those we interact with.

Understanding appears to be the key. We are helpless as long as we have no conscious understanding of the source of our beliefs, our attitudes and our prejudices, as we are unable to change them and so remain static.

As we start doing an internal search and identify the many voices with their attitudes and beliefs, some imposed upon us by others, some which we have created; we are able to identify the internal arguments and belief structures which are creating our suffering.

As we dig deeper into our belief structures, we are able to access the initiating cause of each of our beliefs and also understand the responsibility we need to take for our lack of discernment in accepting an imposed belief.

As children, we tend to believe what an adult tells us. If we are consistently told that we are stupid or dumb, we will eventually internalise this belief and make it our own.

Once this has happened, we appear to have no power to change this belief, despite evidence to the contrary, until we reach an understanding of why we accepted the judgement placed upon us by another.

The judgement is usually accepted as part of our belief system about the self and consequently the universe, because we fear that it is correct. In this vein, any belief system we have accepted, or attitude we have inherited, which restricts either the self, or another, is an indication of an energy we have incarnated with into this life, to transform.

Each belief or attitude we hold manifests as a particular energy, with its own vibration. Separatist, fearful beliefs vibrate at a very low level and create further energy dysfunctions such as jealousy and resentment, which further lower the rate of vibration within our energy structure. The lower our rate of vibration, the more self-serving and self-orientated the human being becomes, until eventually the person involved cannot access energy for themselves and has to force another to energise their system, using the justification that they are 'owed'.

This is self defeating, as eventually, more energy needs to be expended to force others to fill our needs, than is gained.

We then either self destruct, or are forced to learn alternative ways to access our own energy without damaging another. This involves unlocking the door to the prison and facing all the fears which manifest as faulty beliefs, examining them in detail and transforming our belief structures which then alter our attitudes.

The contents of this book are intended as a guide to accessing and understanding how we have tangled our energy, and hopefully will provide the key to our fears so that we may unlock the doors which trap us so that we may all be free spirits incarnate.

    Chapter One

    The Chakra System Simplified

The Personal Human Chakra system is a very complex interactive energy field. The simplest way I can imagine describing the actual system and the energy interactions involved is to describe each aspect as part of a corporate company.

At the top of the hierarchy we have the soul overgroup (oversoul) which we belong to. The soul group would correspond to the board of directors of the business and has nothing to do with the day to day life of the soul which is in physical incarnation at any one time. The soul group is not concerned with individuality at all, it is a merged energy on vibrational levels encompassing dimensions we normally have no conscious knowledge of, or access to.

Next in line is the individual soul, as separated from the group it belongs to.

The soul would correspond to the position of Chief Executive, the day to day head of the organisation. The purpose of the soul is to oversee the general running of the portion of energy which it has projected into physical incarnation at any one time. This includes the life plan and the environment that the plan for this particular incarnation requires, within the larger picture of evolution of humanity.

Within the soul is the aspect which we call Higher Consciousness or Higher Self. This level of activity corresponds to a General Managers position. The higher consciousness does have awareness of the physical incarnation on a daily basis.

This means that the higher self or consciousness is in charge of directing energy, implementing plans, identifying obstacles, assisting with tasks or lessons, motivating and trying to ensure co-operation from all of the chakras ( corporate managers), and generally trying to make sure that we attempt to learn the lessons we have come here to assimilate (life task).

The higher self monitors the chakra system, seven in number, associated with living life on Earth. The Chakras are all of equal importance – the human being is not functioning as a whole with any of them inactive in the later stages of incarnation:

The first chakra is the base or Root chakra. This chakra manifests the life force in the physical body and indicates our comfort and ease in a physical body, and corresponds with the etheric body. This chakra is situated at the base of the spine.

The second chakra (sacral or emotional chakra) deals with emotional issues, responses and intimacy and displays our comfort and ease with our emotions and corresponds with the emotional or astral body. This chakra is situated below the navel

The third chakra (Solar Plexus Chakra) manifests as a conglomeration of the energies available in the base and sacral chakra and utilizes these energies as the power to manifest change in our lives: to alter the world we experience in some way. This chakra is situated at the base of the rib cage

The solar plexus chakra demonstrates our intention of action or re-action on a conscious level and corresponds to the lower conscious mind, (the lower mental body). The action or reaction we manifest is a result of the beliefs held in the base and sacral chakras.

These first three chakras are the ones used mainly in our initial incarnations on Earth.

Once these three chakras have become stabilized to some extent, the building of the energies in the other chakras starts functioning at more than life-sustaining levels and development of the more evolved Human Being begins.

    The other four chakras are:

Heart or unconditional love chakra; situated in front of the physical heart.

Throat or creativity chakra situated at the base of the neck.

Third eye or perception chakra situated between the physical eyes.

Crown or universal connection chakra situated on top of the head where the fontanel lies when we are born.

These four chakras are not developed in isolation as interaction is needed to trigger our personal growth.

At various stages in our evolution, our chakras all come into balance. This does not mean that the person involved has made it and completed his or her evolution. What it does mean is that we have accessed and balanced the types of energy we are currently able to work with, and consequently have expanded our perception or awareness to encompass a larger reality.

This balanced situation does not last for long as usually a new energy trigger, an incident or a situation, is introduced into our personal reality and creates disruption in our lives, which leads to more processing and learning and ultimately, to more growth. The cycle of imbalance, balance, imbalance, balance is perfectly normal and healthy. However, there is concern if our energy field stays either in balance, or out of balance for too long, as this indicates avoidance and denial of what we have chosen to learn.

The only exception to this comes when we have totally mastered the Earth or physical plane. This then means we have experienced every energy variation available here and respond in a state of balance.

Within the chakras we find the attitudes and beliefs which manifest as all the different energies held within our energy system. Just like employees in a large corporation, chakras go on strike, sulk, have sick days, go on extended leave and can generally cause major upheaval when out of balance

When our chakra system is in balance, it means that all of our energy system, from the Chief Executive down to the janitor, are in a state of mutual co-operation and all the chakras are fulfilling their separate roles to the best of their ability under the current circumstances.

When our chakra system is out of balance, it means that the different energy aspects (chakras and subtle bodies) and the energies (beliefs) held within them, are having disagreements about which is right, which is wrong and what will happen if the other aspects (chakras) do such and such because of old rubbish (beliefs), stored up resentments and complaints (attitudes), leading to lots of diversions and dead ends as we attempt to navigate through the beliefs.

It is not until we have worked our way through the belief systems and attitudes which are in conflict and come to an internal agreement that the energy system comes back into balance for that particular stage of evolution The system of changing our beliefs, attitudes and the projections we put onto the world and other people is called Personal or Spiritual Growth, and is our main purpose for being in incarnation.

    Evolution of Humanity

When we are undergoing our first few incarnations in a physical human body, we are not skilled in the use of the energies available for a human being to utilize.

Our higher consciousness would have been an expert working with whatever energy formation we had been incarnating with previously, but has no, or very limited, consciousness of working within the human body with the energies that the human consciousness can access.

During these first incarnations as a human, our chakra potential is there, but it is only through experience, hard work and continual learning that, over numerous lifetimes, we become able to understand and to use wisely, more and more of the energies which incarnation as a human allows us to utilize.

Eventually, our energy system will have mastered all the possible energy combinations available and there will be no further purpose in choosing to incarnate as a human with human-type energy fields: for this will have become very restrictive.

Usually, we start off our cycle of human incarnations learning how to cope with a human body (base chakra) with very minimal activity in the sacral and solar plexus chakras - only what is needed to sustain and propagate life. As we move through our incarnational cycles we gradually charge up more and more experience (energy in this chakra) as we learn how to take charge of this unfamiliar vehicle, we eventually learn how to sustain life within our physical being for long enough periods of time, to move past emphasizing physical survival as the main focus of our existence.

Our focus starts changing to encompass others in a physical body on a more complex level than previously. We begin to develop emotional relationships using the sacral chakra, which indicates awareness of another person as a separate individual and we become aware of attraction. Initially we are not concerned with whether the attraction is mutual or not, but with experience we learn that mutual attraction is desirable as it enables free choice for both or all parties, combined with an intention to co-operate.

This ranges across the board from intimate relationships and friendships to tribal or national affiliations. ‘You supply the basics of life in their raw form, and I will convert them into a useable resource.’ The early manifestation of this type of energy building occurred when the majority of humanity lived in a tribal nomadic hunter/gatherer existence and was the start of co-operative society. In this situation, humans with physical strength did the hunting, defending etc. while the preparation of food, shelter, and clothing was left to the physically weaker members of the tribe.

Gradually, as this way of life became more common, we started developing and energizing the solar plexus chakra to determine the best use of personal power. This involved either co-operation, or war with neighbouring tribes, as we each decided what we thought was fair trade and fair sharing of resources. Of course, strife occurred when one tribe wanted another’s property or got greedy.

These three chakras co-operate together to manifest the aspect of the self called the personality ego. This is the aspect of humanity which is materially focused, and is used as our point of reference throughout our lives.

Eventually, we reach a stage where we start to develop our spiritual aspects. When this happens, we start attributing things we observe to higher external forces.

We start off initially with a childlike belief system. (He must have done something wrong because that tree fell on him.) Our initial God is vengeful and controlling. As the incarnational cycle evolves, our idea of God or the Ruling Energy becomes more complex. We start questioning what we have been taught by others and we start defining our own concept of the God force.

Gradually, we keep incarnating and evolving, until one day we have made it. Our understanding and use of the energies which supply life to the universe is in complete alignment with the real energies which supply life. We then start co-operating with these energies, instead of trying to force our beliefs onto the Universe.

As you can see, evolution is the purpose of incarnation.

The self orientated reason for incarnation is to learn about the Universal Energies operating in this particular sector of space from the Human framework.

The unselfish reason is to assist those who are also on the same quest.

Interestingly, if you observe the growth of children, you will see them move through the stages of activation of the first three chakras usually in the first five years of life.

The base chakra lesson is learned in gaining control of that unwieldy body we find ourselves in and becoming aware of and in charge of, all its functions. Children have a huge delight in exploring their bodies and their environments, but need guidance about the dangers manifesting on the physical levels as they gain control over their bodies.

The next stage is the energising of the sacral chakra, when the child learns about the emotional aspects of the self and cries with distress when it feels abandoned, and snuggles in safe and warm when the emotional and physical needs are fulfilled.

Following this stage is the activation of the solar plexus chakra, that of personal power.

Any parent knows the tantrums children can throw when they do not get what they want. The emotional body goes into uproar, the feet stamp, the hands strike out, the mouth roars. The main indicator of this stage of evolution however, is when they say ‘NO’ for the first time.

The child has discovered their own power as an initiator of action, but has yet to learn discrimination and reason. The lower mental body is beginning to function. This is the start of learning how to be in charge of these chakra energies and as we grow and learn, we start energizing the other chakras we are to work with.

For ease of describing the different stages of building chakra energies, the stages have been separated more than would occur in reality.

    The Soul

The main concern of the soul is to implement a long term plan for growth and to oversee the process of incarnation and learning. This involves taking into account successes and failures from other lives, and incorporating the lessons we have learned (and those that we have failed) into a model for growth for this particular life. This enables us to work on the issues currently needed for our growth and also lays a foundation for future expansion of our energy fields.

The soul has a deep understanding of the lessons we have learned in our other incarnations which determine the course of our current journey: the triggers we will face, the people we will meet, both as friends and supporters, as well as those who challenge and block us.

We do not usually incarnate with all we have
