Leaving Neverland (Why Little Boys Shouldn't Run Big Corporations)
()
About this ebook
In our desperate attempt to stay young forever we have achieved eternal childishness, rather than eternal youth. Mankind has gradually become Pankind.
We live in an adolescent society, Neverland, where never growing up seems more the norm than the exception. Little boys wearing expensive suits and adult bodies should not be allowed to run big corporations. They shouldn’t be allowed to run small businesses, governments, armies, religions either. Mankind has become Pankind and whilst “lost boys” abound, there is also an alarming increase in the number of “lost girls.
It is time for us to Leave Neverland, for our sake, for our children's sake, ffs (for our future's sake). We need to hold perpetual boys responsible for their actions even when they run corporations that have an economic output larger than most countries. We need to start to grow up. It is actually that simple. The difficulty of course, is that growing up is much easier said than done. The author successfully avoided growing up for 32 years. Fortunately contemporary, community based Rites of Passage offer us all a timely solution to the growing up conundrum and a way out of Neverland.
"An insightful depiction of the dangers of leaving perpetual ‘boys’ in positions of power. The solution and delightful skewering are reminiscent of Hunter S Thomson!" Rex Finch
Daniel Prokop
Daniel had a successful 13 year career with the largest company in the world, owned his own small business for 9 years and worked for a harm prevention charity. Three vastly different sandpits all linked by similar childish behaviour some of it his own. Daniel is a parent educator and a devoted father of two children and a husband and they all live together which is a bit nuclear. “In a desperate attempt to stay young forever we have achieved eternal childishness, rather than eternal youth.” “The style pace and delightful skewering are reminiscent of Hunter S. Thompson,” Rex Finch ‘Emotional Stupidity,’ ‘Getting Forked into Growing Up,’ and ‘Rites of Passage: an alternative to Self Initiation,’ are keynote topics that Daniel speaks on.
