About this ebook

Every Tuesday afternoon Clyde is given the same choice as he sits alone in the office of a powerful Swiss banker. Take control of the meeting and do his job – sell and make his target. Or he can put on the blindfold that lies on the desk and cede control to Herr Kruger who is waiting in an adjacent room. It is the latter Clyde does, and each week he is taken further and further along a path of self-discovery, pain and submission, his submissive side so long repressed allowed to flourish at last. Now on their tenth meeting the relationship will reach its inevitable consummation with an explosive climax. It is the end... and a new beginning.

Jack Brighton

Jack Brighton is a British author who specialises in M/M erotica - most of which, but by no means all, falls into the category of BDSM - a way of life that he has rich experience of. There are romantic overtones in some of his work, but you tend to get what it says on the label. All the books fall under the banner 'Flaming Hot Gay BDSM' or 'Flaming Hot Gay Erotica', so don't expect anything else. But do expect them to be flaming hot, with plenty of storyline and character development. A dry sense of humour also features, and a very vivid imagination. He is best known for his 'Tales from The Wild Side' series, where that imagination runs riot.Jack was brought up in a mining community in the west of Scotland, took his degree at Stirling, did a year's post- graduate in Edinburgh, then moved south to London, where he taught for a few years before moving into the finance sector, based in The City. Many of his stories draw on this background - as a gay man trying to find himself in what was more often than not a hostile environment.Having given up the rat race, Jack became a full time writer in 2010. He now lives in Brighton with his long term partner.Jack has also written mainstream fiction under the pen name J. K. Brighton.

    About the Author

    Prologue

But it doesn’t make sense to freeze the project. We need a new system. It’s imperative that something better is in place by the end of the year. And everyone is in agreement on the system we want.

I didn’t say freeze it, I simply requested that you tell the salesman that it is being frozen. Humour me, please. Call it a favour. You can then change your mind a day or so later – it will keep them on their toes if nothing else.

The line was cut dead before a response could be made. The new man in charge at Coates Private Bank gawped at the handset then placed it back on the base. He grumbled to himself and tossed his head from side to side in an attempt to shake off his irritation. Such surety the man had. Not even bothering to wait for consent. And of course his ‘request’ would be complied with, odd as it was. The new man in charge might be new in this job, but he had been around long enough to understand the workings of power within the tightly knit world of private banking – and power had just made a very strange ‘demand’.

Picking up the handset again, he dialled internally.

Jarvis, here, said the head of IT.

You’d better come see me, Jarvis. It’s going to be a funny old day!

    Chapter 1

Clyde Jenkins stepped briskly out of the elevator and strode into the open plan office. He threw an accusing look around the work space and saw that there were only a few people seated at their desks.

This was good. It was mid-April, which meant six weeks remained before the end of the financial year. Six hectic weeks in which to bring in more deals and hit the ludicrous sales target that Clyde and his team had been set – ten percent higher than the previous year, in a time when expenditure was being seriously cut back.

    Greedy bastards!

The board looked for miracles from him – no other sales manager had been given such a hike. It seemed like an impossible task right from the start, even more so now with time ticking away and the forecast looking less than cheery. But Clyde had never missed a target yet, and he had no inclination to go breaking his duck – he certainly wouldn’t go down without one hell of a fight. His team had been told in no uncertain terms that he expected them out there rattling every possible cage to make up the numbers he passionately needed. Bums on seats sittings in the office wouldn’t do that. So the place being almost empty was good... it was very good. Yet Clyde was still feeling decidedly uneasy.

He approached his private office with increasing anxiety. He knew it was ridiculous – he should be focused on the job at this critical time. But how could he find focus until he knew for sure? There was still a chance – it wasn’t definite. Another minute and he’d be certain one way or the other.

His secretary, Avril, was at her work station outside Clyde’s office, chirpy as ever – not a visible care in the world. She was laughing on the phone – a call that was quickly terminated when she noticed her boss heading her way with a grumpy expression on his face. It was obviously a personal call she had been taking – there were lots of those. Avril was a knock out from head to toe and she dressed to make the most of her feminine assets. She was a popular girl with a wide variety of men and a few select women as well, and one who liked to chat way too much. His team had been surprised when Clyde hired her, and wondered why he kept her on. It wasn’t for the obvious reason - that was for sure. He certainly wasn’t screwing her. To the casual observer she was a liability. But the truth was that despite her secretarial shortcomings, when things got tight, Avril responded – no questions asked – no moaning or groaning – she just buckled down and did what was needed. And she protected her boss like a tigress would her cubs – and that was priceless in demanding times. They had an understanding that had never been verbalised – an unlikely symbiosis that worked for them both. A personal call was fine, as long as she cut it off when Clyde needed her. The guy would call back – he’d be nuts if he didn’t... either that, or he’d be as bent as Clyde.

    Hi Avril. What’s happening?

Under different circumstances the same question would have evoked a ten minute low down on office gossip... but not now. And Avril didn’t need to rely on facial expression or tone of voice – she intuitively knew how to respond.

Simon needs to speak to you about the Rothschild deal, he thinks it’s good news but I’m not sure you’ll like it. Barry wants half an hour to go over the Hambros contract – what I typed up looked fine as far as dates are concerned. Robert is panicking about something or other but he’s always in a fluster before a deal gets signed, so I’d take it as a good sign. And Roland said he needs to see you as soon as he gets back from Coates. I suspect it’s the last one you really need to worry about.

Thanks for the heads up. Is that it?

A few clients called, I’ve left the message notes on your desk. Nothing urgent... Oh, and Marcia called, Herr Kruger was able to reschedule, so he is in London today after all. He can see you at the usual time, five o’clock. Naturally I confirmed.

Thanks, Avril... Give it half an hour then line the boys up. And make sure everything is clear from four o’clock onwards.

Of course. How was your morning?

    Crap!

Sorry! I’ll bring you in some coffee and a couple of jammy dodgers. Perhaps there’ll be a silver lining somewhere in the afternoon.

As Clyde opened his door and stepped into his office, a smile crept over his face. Avril’s report wasn’t great – it sounded like trouble was brewing and things were slipping further, but at least he could now settle and focus on those deals and help to turn things around. His day would have more than a silver lining to it... Herr Kruger had managed to make his weekly trip to London, as opposed to being detained in Zurich as had been expected yesterday. And not only that, his normal meeting with Clyde would go ahead.

Clyde sat down in his chair with all the excitement of a trainee who’d just clinched his first deal. There was a busy afternoon ahead, but he could afford a moment to bask in his anticipation... He would be meeting again with Herr Kruger – CEO of Switzerland’s most private of Private Banks – a man with huge amounts of funds at his disposal, and
