    Life in the Sunset House flows smoothly under Ethan's veteran care. Don and Jeremy, the developmentally disabled residents, are usually easy going, though Jeremy is prone to violent outbursts. New hire Matthew shadows Ethan, learns the ropes. But what Matthew can't figure out is why Jeremy's violent outbursts are almost always directed at Ethan, and why Ethan willingly accepts the beatings. Until the night Jeremy goes too far...

    This is a short story set in Arizona. It runs at approximtely 3,000 words.
