    Two helidracs came in from the east today, landing along the tarmac not far from where we burn the bodies. Out came a few scientists, and as many soldiers. They demanded all the information we had on the village of Tamunde. Maps. Population figures. They told Chielo that there’d been another outbreak of the virus. By the time the scientists got the first satellite images, everyone’s dead. Thirty-seven skeletons lying in the fields where they’d been working, or simply sprawled in the road… Even the wood and govan structures were rotting.
