I hope you enjoy your visit feel free to cruise around the site and get to know me and my peeps LOL. I love writing Chick Lit/ Romance. I recently re-edited and reapplied the lipstick of my Chic Lit Series, Deja Vu of Love. The series starts off with Deja Vu of Love Packing for the Journey and covers two decades in the life of Jazz Kelly. As a writer, I am partial to using a third person multiple POV style of writing. Although not well known it is frequently used in Romance and other genre's where multiple points of views add to the depth and value of the story line, and character interactions.I also prefer moving the story along through the use of dialogue versus narrative. I think it's because I enjoy giving a distinct voice to all my characters. As a write, I believe that dialogue helps define the characters as people. I write about real women with flaws who are strong and confident and ready to live life. I enjoy watching my characters grow and change as the story of their lives unfolds. I try not to be too much of a control freak and let the characters write the story, after all, it is their life.So if you are a reader who likes to hear the voice of your characters and share their POV I am your next favorite writer LOLJust a little something about me I am a retired Actress, Director, Choreographer, who discovered her real passion in life, was writing.I have two sons Zachary and Garette I also have two doggie kids Hazel and Harry. My free time is spent in the garden enjoying nature and drafting books in my head. Decorating, writing and crafts also make the list of favorite things. I would love to have feedback from readers I think we are always curious about what people think of our work. So, here is my suggestion get a great glass of red wine, start the bubble bath grab a couple of chocolate covered caramels with sea salt. Then enjoy some quiet time with a good book. I hope you love and enjoy reading the characters with minimally twice the enjoyment I had writing them to life. Please pass the link to my book page to your address and Facebook people; if you believe I am worthy of a personal recommendation.May you enjoy all the bad boys of romance with none of the pain.

    Fall of 2003

Sierra Designs had grown to become a huge success, and both the baby and the design house blossomed under the care of Patrick. Many homes, corporate headquarters, and luxury resorts had Jazz Kelly’s unique interior design stamp. She had become a relentless workaholic once she found her niche. She was painting office furniture the day they won their first bid. It was a day to remember because they celebrated with dinner out at the fish market and Patrick got food poisoning. But beyond that, it began a new chapter for them both on a personal and professional level.

Jazz exploded with creativity and pizazz, the dream she and Patrick had, became a reality. It came through the unexpected hit of their design show when the success started they jumped on it never looking back. The fact their huge mega stardom happened because of an unexpected gift as cable access television made it that much sweeter. The show developed for fun not profit and, to show off the finished product of the designs. It started as a small part of the firm’s growth equation but after Patrick got done doing his magic. The show became a phenomenon and Jazz learned to expect the unexpected when Patrick was in the driver's seat.

They called the show Let’s Swap Casas, and seven years ago the first season they were in the air it became her obsession for her. Patrick’s idea of using the neighbor’s apartments was brilliant, and their group of misfit friends became the first homeowner guest. They were the first production crew and helped flesh out the show. Cass came up with the name and Tye’s contribution the now famous Times Up tagline of their show.

In searching, for the success, she wanted Jazz went through a period of growth doing things that didn’t make her proud. But she learned from it and realized she wasn’t prepared to give up who she was to become successful. The real Jazz Kelly had to be the one who made it or it meant nothing. That was several years ago, and many humbling experiences later she had regrouped.

When a tidal wave of success sweeps someone under it gets crazy, for Jazz that moment hosted the show. Her fans loved her, and the style she became well known for, and the design world fell in love. The eccentric and out of the box twist she put into re-purposing weird items was the draw.

Everybody in town needed time to get used to the idea that Jazz had reached star status. No longer Jazz Kelly who lived with the gay guy and her kid at the Garage. Patrick and Jazz were the only two who didn’t need to adapt they were busy doing and didn’t have the luxury of time. The little decorating show they produced on local public access became a monster hit with enormous responsibilities.

Her fan base was near the cult level in their passion for all things Jazz Kelly. Women copied her haircuts and makeup, the outfits she wore on the show, sold out at the stores that carried them. She was in hot demand as a guest on afternoon talk shows and the previous month spent an evening on Johnny’s couch. It was a high point, and she would never forget it.

The first invitation to walk a Red Carpet came, and Patrick celebrated. Then he had to force her to attend the event and find someone to walk with her. During the first year of the show, a call from none other than Mimes Costa happened. Mim’s had been on vacation in Santa Barbara and saw the show on cable access. Patrick pushed Jazz out the door, he had been so excited to set up the meeting. Although he had never met Mims, he was aware of her connection with Jazz. He also was familiar with her work as an Emmy-winning Executive Producer. She had single handed created a category for Reality Programming on mainstream television.

It was his suggestion to meet in the privacy of the compound and Jazz was all in with the idea. She was looking forward to seeing Mims again after so many years and life experiences. The truth had more to do with wanting to show off what she considered at the time her success as a designer.

The day arrived, and it was as if no time had gone by, the three talked over a delicious lunch of Seafood Salad and Chardonnay for the girls. While Patrick over indulged in sweet tea, the ideas flowed on the plan to bring, Let’s Swap Casas to prime time daytime. Over the years, Mims became a top executive producer in a genre, Jazz, in a weird minor way helped create she was the Guinea pig of reality television. The concept of someone's humdrum life selling toothpaste was unheard of ten years ago.

Once Mims left San Francisco she never looked back, and in a mirrored existence neither did she. In her heart, she always credited Mims as responsible for her success. Mims set the gold standard in reality programming.

The first year Let’s Swap Casas got picked up in five different regional markets, and the budget grew as did the quality of production. Even the scripts got better and, once Patrick raised hell they let Jazz be Jazz things clicked.

Their national fan base comprised a dedicated core of stay-at-home moms, college students, and seniors. Plus anybody else who loved decorating projects and liked or hated their neighbor. Patrick had the brilliant idea to develop their brand within the show.

Their clientele became the wealthy, and famous financial success came when Patrick suggested selling sheets and towels. The show had propelled them into the big league Patrick has gotten them choice contracts with six major brands. He was a genius at marketing the signature home décor line they developed.

His push for Jazz to create her own unique brand separate from the show was yet another brilliant business move. She would never have figured half the ideas he’d come up with to make revenue. During the day while Jazz worked the office and out on sales calls, he ran the business.

The elite of Los Angeles, San Francisco and beyond took notice of their firm. Last week Patrick told her there was a publishing house who wanted her to do a coffee table book. The amazing part was it didn’t scare her to consider the project. She wondered why they hadn’t considered doing it first.

While Jazz worked sixty to eighty hours a week, she had the luxury of knowing her daughter was safe and happy under Patrick's attentive eye. Sierra needed time with her, and so she got time in the evening and on weekends. She arrived home after a tough day at the office to her favorite pastime playing mom. Patrick’s job became to keep the whole place running as efficient as clockwork. When she did something good, he reacted as a loving stage parent.

Although she disagreed he always told her that in his opinion Jazz worked harder than he did. She was the one out there taking the hits, but through all the changes she kept her integrity and reputation as a designer. Patrick always said he enjoyed their individual roles. He promised her it wasn’t hard to stay fulfilled, teaching Sierra life lessons and skills. She spent her days in the care of Patrick and Sierra became his full-time career and the joy of his existence.

Competitors who got beat out on bids by the perceived innocence of Jazz. They learned soon enough not to underestimate her instinct in closing the deal. It was part, and parcel of the other side of her personality Patrick referred to it as her killer self. Those who mistook her kindness for weakness did so once. Most learned after the first meet and never made the mistake again. Her reputation of being a stone covered marshmallow for a reason.

If her passion had turned their small firm into a mega brand, proud of their accomplishments they both wondered how successful they might be in Europe. The work they had accomplished on the US side made Sierra Designs. Now here she sat while he kept the home fires burning, and he expected Jazz to push Sierra Designs across the European finish line. In nothing less than the top position in the top position is what he expected.

She was a serious competitor when they entered a bid or pitched a project. When Jazz secured the bid, to design for international pop stars Malibu mansion, the stakes raised a lot higher. Jazz didn’t mess around she developed into a barracuda business woman. The move became crucial to their success to win global contracts, and Jazz pursued them with a vengeance.

Patrick was at his best whether at a drafting table or in the nursery. He prepared to do whatever he had to for them to continue down the path they started. He loved every minute, and Jazz recognized none of her success would have realized without him. Her goal was to raise Sierra in a world of love surrounded by a wall of protection. He wouldn’t risk his sobriety by exposing himself to the stress. It was a dog eat dog world Jazz worked in daily.

Jazz agreed with him nothing would ever be worth the risk of falling off his program. Patrick always allayed her concerns letting her know he was happy to carry a diaper bag. Their life together rekindled his hope for the future she also loved how they divided up the responsibilities. Patrick was a super godfather for Sierra. He delighted to spend the day in Sierra’s world learning and exploring. Rather than the cutthroat business world Jazz operated day to day with no concept of defeat.

His presence in their lives made her life a lot easier and after Sierra got tucked in for the night. They worked long into the night her sketching designs and him collaborating with the layouts drawing schematics and performing head cheerleader duties. It was crazy, a hectic schedule they both worked for the first few years. In retrospect, Jazz considered those years as the best of her life she’d been a young mother, getting recognition as a success in her industry.

Who wouldn’t love their life Patrick took over managing the cash flow of the family? Plus he handled the hard, tedious business management of the company. The current, improved Patrick bore no resemblance. To the self-pitying drunk, she first met. Everyone in their circle had seen examples of his heart full to the brim with his new responsibilities and commented on it often.

Patrick stayed; busy keeping up with a two-year-old there wasn’t time for drinking, carousing, or pity parties anymore. He always made it a point to hit a few meetings every week, and they had a full-time Nanny, so he was free to manage his busy schedule. Regardless of what was going on in their lives, there was no point in tempting fate. Busy with a child, a business and managing a busy house took organization and a steady handy he had both skills.

One day Ruth McClinton called to hire Sierra Designs for a job. She had a Castle that needed work in Zurich. After months of artful negotiating, Patrick got the gig organized. Jazz closed the deal about the design and then it was up to him to take care of the negotiations. When Jazz heard through the grapevine that Ruth was happy she had a moment of relief.

The upper hand in the negotiations was important for a client to understand the bottom line. She reviewed the final contract, and as promised they would do well with this one. Good negotiating Patrick, her job was the pitch and the design. Patrick made sure first class travel and hotel accommodations, meal per Diem and ground transportation with a driver were also part of the contract. Most important no one except the top dog Jazz Kelly would do her project.

She also got to make final decisions on the vendors, craftsmen, and contractors. Patrick thrilled to have his first design show picked up and approved by the network. It would be a design ready to produce she’d have to move right into production when her plane landed in Zurich.

Jazz didn’t get convinced she had the energy to take on this enormous production in one session. Patrick’s enthusiasm for the project convinced her. The other parts of involved her negative attitude about making a profit.

No one cared about rich ladies who lived in castles. Why would they watch a show about it? The trip would happen whether she agreed or not but it was frustrating when her pleas for a better concept fell on deaf ears.

She didn’t want Sierra Designs to overextend and face failure on the world stage. Jazz wasn’t looking forward to picky, often contentious Ruth. While trying to film their first international special, there were other potential clients she sometimes had a third sense, and it was telling her things would be easier. As the Executive Producer of Sierra Designs, she’d pull rank and deal with the repercussions from Patrick.

Patrick had the same idea and in his heart was the knowledge that cooperation would be his, Jazz was a workhorse. She gave the client their money’s worth without question. Ruth would be no exception he and his partner in crime always delivered in spades. During one of their family picnics at the barbecue pit, Patrick shared the other details of his plan.

He understood her so well that’s why he waited for the best time to broach the topic. If he was wrong and his timing was off, she’d plant her feet and get stubborn. He was close to getting her to give in even though flying over to Europe every other week and leaving Sierra held no appeal. He compromised and suggested she go for the entire two months. Jazz didn’t do well alone, and it was daunting if she looked at the schedule, but it made sense, and in the end she relented.

They started this business, so she would have the joy of engaging in Sierra’s life. Patrick suspected knew she hated being away but assured her, he was capable of taking care of the show as the new season got underway. There was a ton of stuff needed to be handled but since he already had the money spent. They would make expanding into the European market a priority. Everything was about timing now was the right moment to pounce.

Once the decision got made, she rolled with gut instinct, hired a production unit to take with her. She got on the board turning it into the first Swapping Casa Castle Special. It was an opportunity to expand, on someone else's pocketbook. The business woman in her found it too much to resist.

He appealed to her greedy goal of expanding production with these featured specials had always been at the back of her mind. They would script the shows based on memorable renovations of distinctive spaces; this would be a great start.

Patrick liked and agreed with the idea because; it meant growth with no outlay of cash. It didn’t make him happy to be right yet again, but at least the production crew would be cheaper. As he pointed out to her if they picked them up over there. They agreed he’d go over in advance and book the guest, hire the crews and organize things. Two months before the project got scheduled Patrick trip made for a terrible week on the home front for everyone concerned.

Sierra mentioned it on night five of his absence they were dining out with a family friend and corporate attorney Andrew Siskell. Mom I sure would be happy eating a Sloppy Joe with homemade French fries. That way Uncle Patrick would be here to get mad at me for not scrapping my plate and loading it into the dishwasher.

Me too, Sierra I won’t kid you we’ll both appreciate Uncle Patrick and everything he does because of this trip. But for different reasons. Once she arrived in Zurich, she’d only have gratitude for Patrick. It would be well worth the sacrifice once the project got underway. Patrick was taking care of the details with the vendors and craftsman. Sierra Designs had to come out on top Jazz had a mixed reaction about Ruth as a guest and client.

To Patrick she was a cash cow from Dallas, living on the continent. The widow of a Texas oilman now married to the Baron. She had more money than common sense at this point. His job was to take as much as possible while giving the client bang for their buck with Jazz as the teller. But she had to work with Ruth on a day-to-day basis there was the problem. Patrick made them money at every opportunity that passed their way over the years. He encouraged; her to rise to every occasion.

Jazz tried to make Sierra okay with everything after promises of regular cards and letters with cool stamps and phone calls assuaging her fears. There was not another reason to object to the trip. Besides Patrick was of the opinion their home life ran smoother around the compound without her involvement.

It's not that he didn’t love Jazz to pieces, but better she should go over to Europe and meet Prince Charming. She lived as a nun this existence was not healthy from his perspective the opposite appeared to be true. She led a solitary miserable existence, and Patrick wanted her to have more in life. He’d back sentiment up with action given half the chance. To keep the home fires burning to make it possible for her. She needed the opportunity to run with it.

Jazz saw this as a chance, to roll this into an expansion opportunity for Sierra Designs. Patrick loved an exploratory journey on someone else's dime. He and Jazz snuggled in a
