About this ebook

When she pulled the trigger on her supervisor, Scarlett thought she was saving the life of the man she loves while at the same time freeing herself from her duties with the Interpol. She couldn't have been more wrong.

Now a new boss has stepped in, assigning her to a mission that will reveal the truth of her recruitment with the agency and forcing her to fly to Puerto Rico to meet with her grandfather, world famous hit man, Adrian Lang.

For Armand, it's the perfect wedding destination and an opportunity to help her mend her relationship with her grandfather. For her, it's an open invitation for both friends and foes from the past to drag her back into the hell she fought so hard to leave behind.

Yet one question troubles her the most: Will her relationship with Armand remain unchanged after her past is exposed?

Oh my. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, you get book two. This picks up where book one ends, so reading book one is a must (but in no way a hardship). The background of Scarlett's past, which I had felt was lacking in book one, was covered here. You can't help but feel for her. She had an abusive ex-husband, and her grandfather wasn't much better. The people who were supposed to care about her didn't. We get to see a slight turn-around in both the men but it's too little too late. The plot thickens with the mysterious group that's hiring relatives of criminals to kill them, and another unexpected player is thrown into the mix.The story, while longer than the first, was just as fast paced and action-packed. I highly recommend it, and I can't wait to read the next installment.**A free copy was provided by the author via LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review**

I wondered as I read this book if it would have been better to read the first book in the series…first. The book does stand alone but I felt perhaps knowing why Armand and Scarlett were together might have helped. Scarlett was a complicated woman and as the story unfolded it became evident why she might have become so. I have read other books dealing with drugs, cartels, government agencies, torture, good and bad but felt this book didn’t have the depth that some I have read have had. There was plenty of sex, torture, abuse and violence but for some reason there seemed to be something missing. Perhaps if I had read book one or knew where book three was headed it would be easier. I also have to say that there were some mistakes in English that hit me right between the eyes. The one that I keep remembering had to do with two people fighting “hand in hand” when it should have been “hand to hand”. I know that is a little thing but for me to remember it a few days after finishing the book is telling. I wish the author luck in the future and believe her stories will appeal to those who like a very dark love story.
