THERE WAS A SOFT KNOCKING.

Felicia slid out of bed and walked to her door. Yes?

Let me in! The voice was just barely loud enough to hear.

Who is it?

Felicia heard the dull thud of a fist hitting the door. You know who it is!

Mint?

Yes! Open the door!

You’re not supposed to be in here. It was a few hours past sunset.

I won’t stay long.

You told me yourself. No Pixies in my room after dark. Felicia had no intention of turning Mint away, but teasing was too much fun.

A few minutes will be fine. Open the door. Please!

With that last word, Felicia released the lock; Mint’s voice was too pitiful to resist.

The Pixie pushed the door open and, in a flurry of blonde hair and bright green wings, instantly had her arms wrapped around the Vampire. Make me come! she demanded and planted a firm kiss on Felicia’s lips.

Felicia gave the door a shove with her foot and let herself enjoy the Pixie’s lips for a few moments before ending the kiss. That’s exactly why you’re not allowed in here, she said.

Mint’s tongue came out and she licked her lips. You’ve been with Tulip, she said. It wasn’t an accusation, merely a statement of fact.

Of course I have. She’s been the only Pixie around for three days.

I’m sorry. It was safer if you stayed here.

I know, but you were supposed to be back yesterday and I’m tired of waiting around. Do you have news?

Yes, but can I tell you in the morning? I’m not supposed to be here right now.

Mint pulled herself closer and whispered into Felicia’s ear. Make me come. Please. No one will know!

That’s not the issue.

Just put your head up my skirt, Mint pleaded. Thirty seconds, that’s all I need.

It wasn’t a request that Felicia could deny for long. She forced herself to push the Pixie away. You know we won’t be able to stop at thirty seconds.

Mint pouted. Okay, fine, she said and shook herself loose of Felicia’s grip. But instead of leaving she sidestepped around the Vampire and jumped onto the bed, leaning her back and wings against the headrest. I’ll do it myself! She pulled her knees up to her chest and slipped one hand up her skirt.

No! Felicia leapt onto the bed and grabbed the Pixie’s arm, and before Mint could try to use her other hand, Felicia grabbed the other arm as well.

Mint straightened her legs and pulled Felicia to lie almost full length on top of her. Did you change your mind? she asked with a coy smile.

Felicia shook her head. Tell me what happened while you were gone.

I will. Just make me come and I’ll tell you right away.
