About this ebook

Seeing Past Sickness is the inaugural publication of Scripting Change, a community writing project that aims to make a positive social difference. All of the work required to bring together this anthology was volunteered, and 100% of Scripting Change's proceeds* will be donated to our inaugural recipient: the MSTR Scholarship Foundation, which provides financial support for students pursuing an education, despite the difficulties and costs associated with chronic illness.

    Foreword:

Welcome to the inaugural publication of Scripting Change! I am incredibly excited to share this product of so many individuals’ hard work, all of which was contributed for the sake of positively impacting our world. Those donated efforts literally allow this project to exist, and I am humbled that people lent their support to realize what was once less than a seedling of an idea.

Scripting Change grew out of the desire to bring together a widespread community in support of responsible nonprofit organizations, within each contributor’s means and without overhead costs. Whether by submitting to the anthology, spreading the word about our efforts, or becoming one of our, hopefully many, readers, you can feel confident that you are actively helping us change the world!

Because our project centers around writers’ compelling words, Scripting Change is able to raise both awareness and funds for the mission of the nonprofit organization associated with a given project. In this case, that organization is the MSTR Scholarship Foundation, which aims to provide scholarships for students affected by chronic illness, who nevertheless have the passion, drive, and determination to pursue an education. This foundation will receive 100% of the proceeds from this book. With your assistance, theirs will be the first of many deserving causes our project is able to support.

The works included showcase a variety of perspectives and approaches to the complicated subject of chronic illness. I know they will speak to you better than I ever could, so without further ado, thank you once again for your support, and I hope you enjoy our inaugural anthology!
