About this ebook
Insidious as a scream in the dark, ritual murder and deep-seated obsession slice through the senses to leave you reeling. Graphic and savage without apology. Look into the heart of a monster and be afraid.

Chapter One
Ian Brown parked his silver Mitsubishi Gallant in the grocery store parking lot. The sun slowly rising in the east blinded him as it shone brightly through the windshield of the car. He sat for a moment, the windows rolled down, a light breeze blowing through the car and tousling his hair. A child screamed over to his left, the sound of his mother’s hysterical pleading underneath the high pitched wail. Latino music started blaring from a cracked speaker, and a leaf blower started up. A small group of men dispersed from a beat-up landscaping pick-up parked in the corner of the lot. This was what happened every day in parking lots all over the place. Frighteningly normal were the two words that came to his mind while he listened and absently tapped his fingers against the steering wheel.
One block away was the house that he’d been watching for four weeks. He knew the complete layout of the house and where every member that resided in it was at this very moment. He’d followed each of them throughout their days, even hiding in the linen closet to listen to their nightly routines. His heart raced, and his palms grew slick with sweat as he grabbed the black backpack from the passenger seat. Looking inside it one more time, he made sure that he had everything he needed before opening the door and getting out of his car. One thing missing, and it would be all for nothing.
Almost time. Excitement warred with anxiety inside his mind, his tongue swiping along his dry lips as he tried to remain relaxed and walk across the parking lot. The sun beat down on the back of his neck, soaking into his black t-shirt. A sudden sense of being under a spotlight hit him hard, paranoia flooding through his veins. Were they watching him? Did they know what he was about to do? He shook the thoughts from his head. Of course not. It took everything he had in him to keep from running, to take deep slow breaths and calm his mind. No one was watching, and
