About this ebook
"A riveting tale shrouded in darkness by an expert in all things action and adventure. Fans of werewolves or other dark creatures will love Cotilletta's intriguing characters — as well as this compelling story world." — Diane O'Connell, Editorial Director, Write to Sell Your Book
Condemned to fail from the start simply because he wasn’t part of the “in” crowd, Detective Johnny Mako had had enough. Amidst the rough characters and ego-fueled politics of the Nassau County Police Department, Mako’s hard work and exceptional skills are constantly overlooked; all higher ups notice is his outspoken and brazen behavior.
When a gruesome murder case comes into the department, Mako sees it as a chance to prove his skills and get the respect he knows he deserves. He decides to tackle the mysterious case outside of the department. Yet, he can’t go it alone. His only hope is to enlist a bitter ex-girlfriend with a special expertise in the supernatural and a personal stake in the case, a freelance photographer with a deadly secret, and a band of gun-toting lunatics from a mysterious underground paramilitary group.
Suddenly, Mako is thrust into a nightmarish new world teeming with deadly surprises. Once desperate simply to fit in, Mako now comes face to face with something much worse — a centuries-old monster whose dark quest threatens his very survival.
Will Mako’s hunger for respect overpower his moral integrity? Or will this new case lead to his doom? Amidst a frightening world of gritty characters and unbelievable terrors, The Heart of Lycaon will make you examine the strength of human willpower and have you questioning what lengths you would go to for recognition.
