    CHAPTER 1

    The Premise

Melissa trudged her way towards the house of her idiot of a best friend with a determined expression on her face. Instead of looking confused as she was currently feeling, she walked rather briskly with her hands closed tightly into fists. She looked like she was out to teach someone a lesson, and a very nasty lesson at that.

Walking straight to Samuel Torres’ house without knocking, she heard his mother briefly greet her in the background when she entered the door. She muttered a quick reply and continued on her way. And she was afraid of that, of changing her mind.

It had been a violent, gut-wrenching, gruesome deliberation (mostly against herself) to finally decide to take this step without any further delay. It had taken her another two days to figure out how she would actually tell him everything without actually telling him.

The truth was that she felt absolutely ridiculous being caught off-guard regarding her own emotions. She wasn’t supposed to feel this way, but she did. And now, all of hell was about to break loose.

Torres. She announced as soon as she stood by the doorway of his room.

Her breath involuntarily hitched upon the sight of Sam’s half-naked glory. His hair was damp, an obvious indication that he just finished taking a shower. Oh, and the fact that he smelled sooooo damn good… STOP.

    She was getting distracted.

He was sitting on his bed with pencil on his hand and guitar on his lap. A music sheet was right in front of him. He looked like he was composing a song or something.

As soon as she barged in through the door, he immediately lifted his head up with an annoyed expression on his face. Obviously, her interruption of his current activity wasn’t appreciated. However, his annoyance quickly turned into mild confusion and finally, a smirk appeared as soon as he realized who it was.

Hey, baby girl. He drawled lazily with a glint of mischief on his eyes. What brings you to my humble bedroom? Ah, wait, I think I know. He placed his guitar aside and walked up
