Mac Dyson
Mac Dyson likes playing with words and sounds. He writes books and makes music. He is a Kiwi by birth and nature, but after a sojourn in the UK as a musician, he now lives in the bustling metropolis of Sydney. His life has included stints as a TV Director, Pre-school Educator, Cleaner, University Lecturer but his favourite place to work is the theatre. He is particularly fond of Shakespeare - his favourite play being "Much Ado About Nothing". As a singer he loves John Dowland and Henry Purcell songs, and the works of Joni Mitchell, Prince, David Bowie, Bjork, and Aphex Twin. His life has been quite an adventure - perhaps why his books are on the weird side - but he has enjoyed a lot of it very much. Due mainly to a wonderful selection of 'human beans' that have journeyed with him. Thanks yous fellas. Kia kaha, Mac D x

"The in-flight entertainment? Rubbish!
On Air New Zealand. At least a Woman’s Weekly. Or a spunky Steward to flirt with. Or more usually? A plump bossy one to bitch with.
But I got? A grumpy ex-squeeze. A snitty ex-undead, ex-lover. And not even in person. Certainly not in the flesh. Because now. He’s just a cantankerous, ex-corporeal, ex-cherubic, … ex-screw!"
That got a twitch. Time to rattle his chain. Up the ante. Add to the aggravation. So. I pour on the petulance. Actually. Not even that! Scratch that! Erase it from your memory. Excise it from public record. He’s no more than an ex one-night-stand!
Right about now. Would be clearing his throat. If he had one. About to take issue. Protest. Play parent. Put me right.
What a surprise. Been around since the world was first a twinkle. A shining star. In Heaven’s firmament. (Thank you Lena Lamont!) Of course he knows everything. As my mother would say. He’s a pill. Hard to swallow.
But… Having returned to pure spirit. He’s actually at my beck and call. Can cut him off. Break the connection in mid lecture.
Sadly. Doesn’t make him think twice.
