Destination Ghoul
Everybody at school was talking about the carnival that crept into town during the middle of the night. Roustabouts raised tents in Baker's Field. Motors ran. A roller coaster was assembled, taking shape high above the tents, track unfurling into the sky.
After school on Friday, Doug and Ray raced to Baker's Field. The air sky blue, the grass of the midway as yet untrampled. The coaster loomed.
Let's go see!
Doug pushed Ray onto the midway, where a sign announced the coaster's name.

Ray read.
He had barely finished when a scowling man with biceps like basketballs stepped in front of them.
