Jaysen True Blood
Jaysen True Blood was born and raised in the Midwest where he currently resides. His first taste of writing came early in grade school with a class assignment. a few years later, his love for writing would return as he found himself with another class assignment, this time a poetry unit. through junior high, he would write a series of novels, many poems, and begin his long interest in writing song lyrics as well. In high school, he would learn the value of tall tales, myths and other kinds of stories as he continued to build his store of stories. upon graduation, he went for a semester at a university, where he would write two stories, one of which would become a serial online for about six months. Returning home, he worked at just about anything he could find, but never strayed far from his love of the story. After his first marriage, he signed on with Keep It Coming, an e-zine, where he wrote two serials, "Tales From The Renge" and "Breed's Command" (the same characters appear with Fancy Marsh in several subsequent westerns. The serial was taken from a manuscript written for a class assignment while in high school). H also wrote writing and music related articles for the print version of KIC that came out for just three issues. When KIC went under, Jay was once again forced to work at different jobs just to make ends meet. between 2007 and 2010, Jay would release "Seven By Jay: Seven Short Stories", "The Price Of Lust: Book One Of Faces In The Crowd" and "So Here's To Twilight And Other Poems".

In The Grip Of Insanity - Jaysen True Blood
1.
Contikiraud stood in the arena. Before him was a Glamwyll. His first test.
He studied its arachnoidal form. Four arm-like legs protruded from its thorax while four legs supported its abdomen. Its fanged hominid head was dotted with four compound arachnoid eyes and framed with spiderine hairs.
Without its glamour, it was an ugly thing. Horrid to look upon. Something from the land of nightmares.
Come, child, it coaxed in his mind as it took Maria’s form, let me grant your every wish.
You will not take me,
he stated, matter of factly, nor will you do me harm, Glamwyll. I know your visage to be an illusion. Maria is leagues from here and safe. You are a monster.
But I am everything you long for, it insisted.
No you aren’t,
he resisted.
You will come to me!!! It screeched.
No,
he shook his head.
You are powerless against my wiles!!! It was getting desperate.
Wrong, oh monster,
he said grimly, you have no power.
It attempted to cast its web. He dodged. It tried again and he dodged again successfully.
Energy crackled to life at the tips of his fingers. It engulfed his hands as he silently cast his spells. The energy streaked toward the vile spider-creature.
The Glamwyll screamed in pain. A direct hit. He struck again and again, leaving the monster no time to counter.
One last blast tuned the beast into ash. Weakened, he sat down on a bench in the arena.
Impressive!
Orlowaug exclaimed, appearing in the arena, far better than I expected! You learn fast!
My humble thanks,
he bowed humbly, Master.
I have never seen one who could destroy a Glamwyll so easily!
the necromancer mused with surprised glee. Nor one who could resist its glamour so adeptly!
We test you,
Olstos smiled, from easiest to hardest. The Glamwyll is considered the easiest of the monsters as it relies on its glamour and web casting to ensnare its food. It has none of the charisma needed to entrap you completely.
We will pit you against the Charismar tomorrow,
Dryllnaq looked him over, as you have used a fair amount of your mystic strength in your defeat of the Glamwyll.
Just remember,
Thronrymm began, "every time you use massive amounts of your mystic strength, it will age you a little. It does not shorten your life, not really, but it will grey your hair faster than nature will.
As you gather more knowledge, more magicks, your threshold will be greater and it will take more and more to push you to that point where you use massive amounts...though the use of magicks will age you quickly as well.
Unless you draw the magicks used from the dead or from the earth itself,
Olstos added.
I will keep that in mind,
he stated humbly.
TIME TO TEACH YOU HOW to become shades,
Lupyr snarled, so that you can move throughout the city and learn all that you can without being seen.
And our sisters in the harem chambers?
Tyreon inquired. Are they also learning this?
Yes, boy,
he yipped, "the gods are teaching all the same lessons."
Very well,
the youth nodded.
It will also help you slip in and out of rites you aren’t allowed into,
he barked, and to see what they do not want you to see.
He took his human form and produced a tome from beneath his robes. This, he created copies of so that all in the barracks had one. He opened his copy.
Open your tome and follow along with me,
he instructed, the spell we will learn is the first you will see.
The youths opened their tomes. Each to the first page.
Repeat after me,
he smiled, androm orcus lamad horeb.
Androm orcus lamad horeb,
came a unified answer.
Fendelis noram harager omissus,
he continued.
Fendelis noram harager omissus.
Vanisis shadu,
he completed the spell.
Vanisis shadu.
Everyone in the room immediately vanished. It had worked perfectly. He smiled.
Very good,
he praised, "now we learn how to reappear. Repeat after me. Hominis inclusus reapsis.
Hominus inclusus reapsis.
The group reappeared. He grinned. Excellent.
Practice this,
he admonished, so that all you have to do is think the spell and it happens.
he turned the page.
ON TO THE NEXT SPELLS,
Ravenia announced, the protections you will need to resist and repel the powers of the mistleraptor.
She smiled at her students. The first will be the deflection spell. Repeat after me.
Omicros deflectus dysus lorca manorim magicus."
Omicros deflectus dysus lorca manorim magicus.
An electric energy flowed through and around all in the room. It crackled and popped as it did so.
Good,
she nodded, good. Now repeat after me. Protectus subjus magus omnius universus.
Protectus subjus magus omnius universus.
Avnaris galantius fallanius narus.
Avnaris galantius fallanius narus.
Divinus shieldus continuus immortuus.
Divinus shieldus continuus immortuus.
"You are now protected from all magicks that may be used against you here, she smiled,
for these, there are no counterspells. These are permanent and will protect you forever...or until the end of this age."
What if our tomes are discovered?
Trynna inquired.
Worry not,
she smiled, I will keep them with me. No one will know that they even exist.
The tomes vanished as she placed her own back inside her feathered robes and transformed back into a raven.
Practice the shade spells,
she admonished, fluttering to the open window, and become adept at its use. Remembrance of the protection spells is unimportant. Be safe, my children.
They watched as she flew away. They were now alone again. And just in time.
Master Jenarra opened the door. Looking around, he satisfied himself that there was no one within except the girls and their eunuch tutor, then left.

Asphodyl had been one of twenty picked from those sent by the emperor to be set aside as Golmagug’s brides. Now, she was being dragged before the demimage for his approval. She hoped that he would find her pleasing.
She had heard that it was a privilege to be chosen for such a position. It was said that he made only the most beautiful his brides and concubines. Whether that was true or not, it was tempting to believe in it.
She had never seen him. The group she was with had not been met by the demimage. He had been conspicuously absent.
She had thought nothing of it. After all, he was said to be very eccentric. Odd.
At the same time, he was supposed to be
