About this ebook

Leaving go is a stretch for the men in these three stories. For one, the draw is the touch, the sight, even the thought of a woman’s hair. For another, it’s the ex he can’t get over. And for a third, it’s a cyber tryst spun out of control. It all leads to obsession. And even the women aren’t immune.

    Crowning Glory

He loved the way it glittered in the sun from the window just before dusk. Each fiber radiated coppery fire as it dangled down the back of the chair.

He reached out to stroke, to feel the soft tresses tickle his fingers. Then he knelt at arm’s length and just imagined.

All those times he’d longed to touch. No, not touch. Caress. Immerse himself in scent and sensuality. Regress to a state in which he could clutch with a baby's innocence.

As far back as he could think, it had hung in temptation from female heads of every age and description. Long before contoured tee shirts and taut jeans meant anything to him whatsoever, his hormones had been teased by the color, the texture, even the fragrance of ringlets and braids and tails both of the pig and pony variety.

As he pondered, recent encounters came to mind. The Latina sitting next to him in the bus with the gold hoop earrings and the black curls as thick as Navajo wool. Was it deliberate when her hair brushed over his bald spot as she departed? He remembered the girl at the checkout counter. How long before he could free himself from that vision? Her glossy blond drapery stroking his knuckles as she held the credit card bill for him to sign.

Here at home, at least, he could grab and rub to his heart’s content. He could lick and prod and nuzzle, and it would never be known outside those four walls.

Just between us, he murmured as he moved to the front of the upholstery. The light, so magical for the few moments before sunset, had faded from green-gold
