Chapter 1
The information that CIA Director George Capilano had received earlier that morning had left him with an empty feeling in his stomach. It was about to get worse once he informed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Robert Charlton. It was the worst kind of information he had received so far in his intelligence career which had spanned four decades now. He had experienced intelligence work in Asia, Latin America, and South America. George had been working for the CIA in South America during the Cold War. He walked over to the chair at the opposite of Charlton’s desk.
General Charlton slightly cocked his head to the side and sat down as was recommended. Charlton looked at him with dark blue eyes sunken into a frail looking face. Despite his frail looking face his physical body was still in good shape. He always made sure that he stayed active playing tennis and regularly walking. Years of high stress military service had taken its toll on the fifty
