I thought that she loved me, but that was a mistake. It was the sort of mistake any man can make – from a lovelorn teenager to the wisest man in the White House. But I had to found out the hard way. When I got back to the little hotel room, she was gone. Her van outside had also disappeared, leaving me with no wheels and no easy way out of Las Vegas. Even though I had managed to get rid of the mob boss who had been after me, I knew that respite would be brief.
