If you run with the Wolves
If you run with the Wolves for long enough
they’ll think you one of them,
so will the sheep on the hillside
so will the fawns in the glen.
If you change your coat for a Wolfskin
to blend in with the pack,
the rabbits will rush for their burrows
the chickens will hide in the shack.
If your once original banter
becomes a hollow howl,
expect the panicking fauna
expect the flapping fowl.
The running might well be exciting
and you’re just there for the ride,
but run with the Wolves for long enough
and you’ll turn Wolf inside.
He makes sailing ships
Hands that lifted two-man stones
and set to rage broke tough-guy bones
and through deep snow sought stranded sheep
and held them tight down valleys
