R.A. Sears
Mainly a writer of supernatural/urban fantasy fiction, R.A. Sears has been seriously writing since she was 13, honing her craft to have a blade of storytelling as sharp as her rapier wit. Miss R.A. currently lives near (but not in) the thriving metropolis of Baltimore, Maryland. She shares her home with her two cats, Chester and Nergal, a dog rescued from Afghanistan who goes by the name Renegade, her son Hunter, and her husband Adam, who proudly serves in the United States Military. She's been posting writings online for some time now under the name Mistress K. Darq-Chylde, and she also writes erotica under the name Kassi Darq-Chylde. What can you expect from her work in both the realm of erotica and less saucy fiction? "Werewolves, vampires, gods reborn, action, steamy scenes, and sometimes pie. Mmm... Pie."

Embrace the Shadow
N. A. Foy
Gazing into the mirror of darkness,
I see myself reflected in you.
Shattered shards scattered I gather,
Putting together the pieces of once was.
My shadow self stands before me
Distorted with ambiguous form.
He gives an angry inimical glare,
As I challenge him to come forth.
I feel who I thought I was
Begin to fade revealing an illusion.
The shadow takes hold of my soul
As I accept the unacceptable.
Qualities in others I despise
Are ambient reflections of my soul.
These fragments of truth unveiled
Are provenances of wholeness within.
I embrace the darkness I once served,
Breaking free from entangling webs
To be complete once again.

Tiamae
Lynn Todd
Standing tall and proud in deep meditation at the edge of the lake, she gazes out over the sunrise. The dampness in the air is so heavy the chiffon of her gown is weighted down, hanging flatly against her chilled skin. Nearly spellbound with introspection she was unaware of the wind wistfully blowing her hair over top of her understated crown, entangling around the jewels within. She didn’t discern the moist scent of the air coming from the water, or the sensation of the vaporous waft against her skin. In her daze the lake appears as though it is a mass of twinkling stars. Zalru Tiamae Haramaety from the house of Rhaelghymn, the most regal and highly revered of all elves, stares in contemplation. All mystical creatures, and even some humans, have heard the name Tiamae, as she is best known. To some she is a fantasy, a fairy tale, a legend; to others a mythical creature, some shudder in terror when they hear the name, and to a chosen few Tiamae is known to be real, and by these few she is either idolized or invokes shuddering from fear. Her beauty is met by no other, as she is the only of her kind.
Her stance creates the appearance of one taller than she genuinely is. In reality she only stands just under five foot tall, but with her head held high, shoulders back, and spine straight she gives the impression of one more statuesque. She has a slender petite body with a tiny waist. Her hair nearly reaches her knees thick, flowing and straight. From a distance, one might think it is striped black and white, but in her presence, one can see it is both a deep, dark, auburn red with the palest of blonde streaked throughout. The blonde so brilliant and white, one might liken it to the light of the sun. Her eyes are almond shaped, dark, obsidian like, with flecks of light near golden amber in color speckled throughout them, her stare intense and alluring. With eyes so all consuming, they present as quite a contrast to her light olive skin. Her lips are full, but mouth small, while perfectly shaped, almost appearing as though she has a
