About The Authors
Introduction
We have come to realise that motivation and inspiration is something we all need on a regular basis. No matter how positive and in touch with ourselves we may be, there are very few of us who can wake up every day with the joys of spring in our step and a smile on our dial no matter what life throws at us. Sure, there are always the enlightened
few among us who are able to still their mind and have reached that level of contentment we all seem to hunger for but which eludes us for the most part. For most of us however, our busy minds constantly react to life instead of creating the life we want. We think too hard on the past and the future, forgetting that the only thing we can truly control and enjoy is the now. Our thoughts are filled with what we want and need and we lose sight of our priorities as this modern disease of more
takes over our lives – more money, more power, more things, always more to fill an emptiness we cannot understand. Will more of all the things we think we want and need make us happy? Is it really even what we truly want? Do we know what we really want?
So when we wake up and a dark cloud of negativity hangs over our heads, how do we change this situation around to be inspired and think positively? What if things have gone wrong during the day and it seems that life is simply against us, throwing us rotten, sour lemons, taunting and daring us to try and make lemon juice of the putrid mess we’ve been lumped with? How do we turn this around and remain motivated and inspired?
For us, a wake-up call is always the realisation that we’re so much better off than so many people around us. If we would just regularly make the time to stop and remember that there is so much we are truly grateful for, we should be high on life and motivated to create more to be grateful for. It’s amazing how it often takes a traumatic event for us to remember our priorities and all that we have to be thankful for. Why wait for a loved one’s death, a near-death experience, divorce, terminal illness, business failure and the like to realise what really matters in life. Also instead of comparing ourselves to our friends and those around us who have more
than us and so focussing on what we don’t have, we should be looking at what we do have, giving thanks for it and comparing ourselves to those who have less than us (of which there are far more people in the world). However, most of us need help to be inspired and that’s exactly what this book aims to do.
Feedback from all our motivational books has confirmed that our readers thoroughly enjoyed all the true-life, inspirational stories in our titles as they could relate to them and be reminded by these thought provoking tales to focus on what’s really important in life and live their lives to the full by taking control of their thoughts, living in the now and creating the lives of their dreams. This inspired us to develop a compilation of some of the best stories from all our works in one book – the one you now hold in your hands.
The message contained within the stories of this book is clear: You must live your life like you mean it – take an interest in your life and make it count or at least make your life one you want to live and be proud of. Don’t be a spectator, watching life and reacting to whatever it throws at you. Don’t let others dictate to you how your life should unfold for only you know
