About this ebook
In a way, Fahd was like most children. He played games and raced with his friends, he had chores, and he didn't always obey his elders. But in a way, he was not like most children. See, Fahd grew up in the desert, within a tribe of night wanderers who shun the day, fearing both the burning sun and the demons and demon hunters alike that are said to prowl beneath its glare.
A few days before Star Fall, a holy day in which the children are to be recognized as adults, Fahd and his friends sneak out in the day to race one last time. But this is one race that nobody can win.

I began writing for fun when I was 8. I began writing with an eye to publication when I was 18. I began participating in NaNoWriMo, and searching for my place in the digital world, when I was 28. I hope to be published before I'm 38. ;) I'm also a Computer Science major, which education I hope to use in my career, and until recently, a full-time student. And a too-frequent babysitter. I write in a variety of subjects, ranging from pirate novels to spy thrillers, and a variety of genres from action/adventure to middle ages fantasy to science fiction. Most of my stories lean towards the fantasy, yet retain elements of each. I am currently experimenting with multiple universes as a means to connect each of these stories, and to connect my original fiction to certain of my fanfiction.

Chapter 1: Dawn Fire
The sky was nearly black; only the faintest light betrayed the coming day. The clan hurried back to their tents before dawn turned true. Only a very great fool would face the desert sun without need.
A pack of children chased one another through the camp, ignoring, in their games, the creeping sunlight.
One of the youngest, a boy of seven, stumbled. Fahd!
he called out. He spit out a mouthful of sand. Come on, Fahd, wait for me.
Another youth turned around and stopped the boy before he could get to his feet. Are ye hurt?
Fahd asked. Let me see it, Dani.
Ain't hurting,
Dani replied.
Fahd stood over Dani until the other boy huffed, rolled over, and stuck out his foot.
Fahd let his eyes dilate,
