Jessica Tennyson finished applying her makeup before she took a final look at her reflection in her bathroom mirror. She’d always loved the lighting in this room. The pale primrose walls gave her usually pale skin a much needed hint of colour. Jessica pulled her golden blonde hair over her shoulder, noticing that her fringe needed a trim, the tips nearly brushing the top of her green eyes.

She picked up the black tube of dark red lipstick and applied it. She only wore it once a month. It wasn’t a shade that she could get away with at her job as a librarian.

When she was finally finished she smiled at her reflection. She’d highlighted her eyes with black eyeliner complete with a flick at the ends, giving her an almost catlike expression. Since she never got much chance to go out, she often pulled out all of the stops. This was miles away from the slightly geeky look she wore at work.
