Just as Tammy is beginning to agree with his husband Jamie that it's time to retire, an eighteen year old woman in Alaska makes the headlines when she brutally kills a sixty-something woman for beating and torturing a dog. Tammy decides that he must go on one more mission. But while he is lending support to Shyla, he is forced to examine his own fragile sanity.

Laura Susan Johnson has been writing since the age of eleven, cutting her teeth on stories of the family dogs and cats.
