About this ebook

TRANSIT is a short story approx. 6938 words in length.

Flipside, Bizarre Tales of the Fantastic: Transit is the first in a line of stories I'll be writing that doesn't quite fit anywhere else in my library of work.

Most of the stories I write tend to be cross-genre anyway. Usually a combination of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. Sometimes sprinkled with a bit of bizarro and the absurd.

This one in particular seem to fall under the "bizarre" category as many of my current work in progress do and so I created a new series of books dedicated to it entitled Flipside.

So what's the story about? Essentially it's about finding magic in everyday things.

After a car wreck, Leslie begins to notice things aren't what they used to be. She's starting to see some things, some really out of this world, peculiar things.

Everything around her is changing and no one seems to be taking notice but her.

Struggling to make sense of it all while trying to get back to normal life is easier said than done in her newly found reality.

It took three weeks for the dizziness to subside. I thought it would never go away. Staying perfectly still didn’t help. Think back to when you were a kid and you’d close your eyes and spin around real fast then open them back up just to feel that odd sensation like you can actually feel the earth spinning around. It’s just like that. Only without the curiosity and wonder. Just the beginnings of nausea forming at the back of your throat and a sense of increasing panic from your inability to control your own body’s response to the wrong stimuli.

The wrong stimulus being a head-on collision with a tree at 40 mph after the truck skidded. I was on my way home from work on a drizzly night following a heat wave within the county that was severe enough to dry up
