About this ebook

Plato Meramec’s Parables of Horror is written to amuse as well as terrify. These three stand-alone short stories blend original folklore, philosophy, and horror into a gruesomely wonderful read. This work is designed to be a digital dollar store novel with quality that transcends the grave. Readers that enjoy the mysterious, arcane, and unusual featured in realistic circumstances will love reading this eBook. Stories featured in this novel are “Creature Nostalgic,” “Flexing in the Dark,” and “Preservation Snee.” "Creature Nostalgic" features a toy maker that gets more than he bargained for in his retirement. "Flexing in the Dark" follows a hipster weight lifting for his life. And "Preservation Snee" presents a group of librarians that devour more than just books. Each story offers rich descriptive imagery that will engross the reader. Here reads a brief excerpt from the beginning of “Creature Nostalgic”: “Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is just light that creates new shadows that serve to torture humanity. Here we discuss a man who has a respectable degree of peace and comfort. Such things, despite the best aims, expire.”

A very hearty thank you must go out to my editor for the amendments made to this content. This eBook is dedicated to my wife for the loving support that only she could provide. The cover art for this eBook is original artwork by Plato Meramec. These three stand-alone short horror stories came to me suddenly. I was compelled by some abstract force to sit and write these.
