About this ebook
Life can be hard but life after suicide is even harder! Find out why before you try it for yourself. The author tells us about her experience, her 'witness' to her experience and what she saw 'beyond life'. She says this about it:
"I would do absolutely anything to return to Paradise (Heaven) but I would also suffer anything that this earth can dish out rather than return to prison (hell). No pain or suffering in this life can come even close to that which I experienced when I stood in that pit."
If you care, please share this booklet with anyone that may be contemplating taking this step. The groups at highest risk are teenagers, returning servicemen and single adults.
Some of the proceeds of this book will be used to provide free copies to those at highest risk.

Reviews for Suicide
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The one star is for including actual hotline numbers, albeit at the end of the book. If the author had made an actual suicide attempt, what they say about the Mormon purgatory (it would have been nice to know upfront that this is entirely from the perspective of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and will therefore be useless to, say, a devout Hindu) would make sense, but if I understand this correctly, they were bummed about teenage bullying and simply lying in bed wishing they could die. The testimony of someone who had actually tried such a thing would carry more weight in convincing people not to attempt. In other words, it feels a bit like false advertisement.
The material about how the author's mother was "surrounded by darkness" and upset her brother's dog (and certainly there is NO other explanation for why a dog wouldn't like a particular person, right? Right?) because she charted horoscopes feels tacked-on and off topic. That part is more "Astrology: Why Not?" -- a smug declaration of how the author, apparently now a Mormon, was awesome for believing in Jesus Christ and their mother was terrible for reading Tarot cards. The author, before this part, states that they were regularly sexually and physically abused during childhood, and had a gun held to their head more than once. If this is true, and we have no reason to believe or disbelieve the abuse that is claimed, then their choice of issues to be upset about (having a best friend move away, having casual friends but no close ones, having a mother who sat at the kitchen table doing horoscopes) seems really rather mild compared to the rest of their horrific early life. If this is all true, then maybe the dog didn't like Mom because SHE WAS VIOLENT, not because she indulged in a pseudoscience that is so mainstream that newspapers have carried horoscope columns for decades.
It's not even the greatest commercial ever for the actually rather convoluted process of joining the Latter-Day Saints, since the steps to doing this are not outlined. All we really know about "why you shouldn't commit suicide" is that you will be in an inescapable pit (which the author escaped, since they merely had a dream or fantasy about committing suicide, and did not actually attempt it) full of other very sad people, and you will be away from the Mormon God, but nevertheless able to tell that He is terribly disappointed about your fate.
(Dear author: If you are going to put five exclamation marks on the end of a sentence, maybe you don't also need to make it bold AND underlined. Maybe, in fact, you should let your words explain why what you are saying is extra-important. Just a thought.)
