- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Powerful
This is a great story, well written and it carries the plot along well. You get a great sense of the main characters and the daunting struggles they face. I would have given a full five stars, but for one thing. Editing! The grammatical errors throughout were easy to read past, however because they were glaringly obvious, the person or persons who did the editing should feel bad for the obvious mistakes. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book. Not sure of my complete feelings yet because it is supposed to be part of a trilogy and this is only the first book. i think i will really enjoy it once i am finished though.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Fairly standard military science fiction. Earth is just expanding to the stars when it is attacked without warning by a more advanced alien race. They refuse to communicate, our politicians are slow to react and hundreds of thousands are killed before the military manage to slow their advance. The only quibble I had was mistakes are always followed by feeling of shame. Everyone realizing they're wrong or admitting that they made a mistake instantly? Never. Thanks to the author and publisher for this free book.
