I've had an active imagination for as long as I can remember, and I've been writing stories since I was 13. When I went to college I took the advice of my family and pursued business, but writing is still my passion. I split my writing time between reviews of movies, comics, and video games. My main work of fiction right now is The Hinges of Destiny.

Chapter 1
Elizabeth and Michael walked side by side through the fair ground. It was a local fair that was raising funds for neighborhood families in need of food for Thanksgiving. The weather was perfect for it.
This was a great idea,
Elizabeth told Michael, I’m glad you suggested it.
Oh yeah, I came here last year, it’s a lot of fun. Any idea what you want to do first?
Elizabeth looked from the food booths to the rides to the alley of games, smiling. I’m thinking rides first, if you’re up for it.
I was hoping you would say that!
They took turns on the pirate ship, roller coaster, and Tilt-O-Whirl a few times until Michael cried, Okay, I need a break!
Elizabeth laughed and guided him over to a nearby bench.
Did I spin us a little too hard on there?
she asked, still giggling.
I’m not even going to try to be the cool guy and claim it was fine.
Michael sighed and held on to his stomach as he settled down on the seat.
Ha! Sorry! I told you that one was my favorite.
Are you sure you don’t also have a particularly strong equilibrium as an ability as well?
If you had seen me drunk before, you wouldn’t have to ask that,
Elizabeth winked.
Well, look who it is!
a voice said, and they both looked up to see Jessica and Max approaching them, walking hand in hand.
Hey guys!
Jessica said enthusiastically. Did you two just get here?
We’ve been here a little while,
Michael replied.
We were about to go get some food,
Max said. Would you want to join us?
Oh, I don’t think I could eat just yet,
Michael said, then turned to Elizabeth, Unless you’re hungry?
She smiled at him. I can wait. Thanks for the offer though, guys.
Sure. See you later!
Jessica told them and waved as she tugged Max off toward the stands. Elizabeth shook her head.
Okay, you’ve known her a lot longer than I have. Should I be shocked that she is now being nice to me after giving me stares of death just three days ago?
In the time that I’ve known her, Jessica has only been single for a total of maybe three weeks at a time. I don’t think she knows how to be by herself. So I guess as long as there is another single female around her boyfriend, she freaks. But now that we’re attached-- I mean, not to say this is automatically serious already, but--
Michael blushed.
Elizabeth put her hand on his arm. It’s okay, I totally knew what you meant.
She reached over and planted a small kiss on his cheek. Feeling up to playing some games?
Totally!
He stood up and held out his arm, offering to take her hand. They walked together over to the games section. Michael managed to knock over the milk bottles on his first try.
Great job! Pick anything from the top row,
the attendant told them, and Elizabeth scanned the brightly colored animals before her eyes popped excitedly at a bright purple monkey with clasped arms.
I want the monkey!
she told him, pointing at it. He took it down off the rack and handed it to her. Yay!
she exclaimed. Thank you!
she told Michael as she wrapped the monkey’s long arms around her neck and fastened his hands together.
Michael laughed and shook his head. You’re welcome.
Don’t make fun of George or I will make you carry him,
she told him.
You named him already? That was fast.
I’m pretty sure every monkey is named George. It’s like a rule or something.
Michael laughed even harder
