    Chapter 1: The Recluse

    Myles sat by the shore doing what he always loved to do – look at sun set and throw pebbles into the ocean. For Myles Orwell, this was a routine he would follow whenever he could escape from work. It was late afternoon and the beach was not too crowded. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day in June on the beach of Orange County, California. The slow gusts of cool wind felt very relaxing and rejuvenating. He was dressed in his usual jacket with carelessly tucked in crisp blue shirt, black trousers, and sunglasses. His tie was undone and was walking bare feet. He sat himself down on the warm sand and stared at the dusking sun behind the ocean.

    From his appearance, nobody could recognize Myles Orwell, one of the richest tech titans of the world. He single handedly had developed software that was powering world’s data centers. His company, Orsoft, was a Fortune 25 company with more than 65,000 employees. He had perfected the science of management. Other companies came to Orsoft to study the company’s management structure and practices. Data centers are not as cool as iPhones and iPads, so he remained fairly obscure. An accidental billionaire, Myles, anyways, didn’t want to be a public figure nor did he care about public opinion. He also didn’t make any public pledge to donate his wealth either. Not that he had better use for it either. He drove an old Mercedes E-350, which was very common in Orange County. The car meant a lot to him – it was a part of him. Even though the car was worn out, he refused to change. Resisting change was his second nature.

    It wasn’t very often that anybody recognized him. Many had read about him and knew that Myles preferred to left alone, but never expected to see him at the beach. May be once or twice, few of his close friends accidentally ran into him at the beach. His story had been published all over the world.
