About this ebook
"A taut, well-plotted thriller with a compelling lead character."
Kirkus Reviews, Aug 2013.
Ever beat an opponent at their own game? Feels good, doesn't it.
Lambert Greene must transform himself from a dedicated family man into a cunning chameleon, willing to risk everything for his ultimate goal. He’s in over his head, and he knows it—but he can’t turn back.
Lambert adapts and survives on adrenaline-driven desperation, instinct, and the judicious use of brute force as he confronts the worst of civilization—the Taliban, opium smugglers, weapons merchants, corrupt locals and foreigners, and an insidious new, expanding regional threat. No government will protect him. In his new line of work, he’ll learn that more than money, trust is the most valuable currency.
His survival plan: repel all adversaries with their rules, then destroy them with his.
Andrew M. Williams
Andrew M. Williamsb. 1958, Halifax, Nova Scotia.Influenced at an early age by Dr Seuss and the masterpieces of Goscinny and Uderzo, Williams alleviated boredom and amused classmates through high-school by writing, and drawing caricatures of teachers, students and anyone else he could outrun. After six enormously satisfying years in university, he surprised everyone by graduating in 1983 with a BSc in Kinesiology.Writing took a back seat for the next dozen years, as he opted for the action and adventure of the Royal Canadian Navy. Creativity was limited to the occasional farewell roast of senior naval officers--a valuable experience in the art of skewering a subject diplomatically, thus retaining some prospect of career advancement. After the Navy he attended MBA school, worked as a cartoonist, became a stockbroker (8 years--great clients), and then realized a long-lost ambition of becoming a writer.Solution ALFA is the sequel to The Carlyle Deception, and represents book 2 in a trilogy.Favorite pastime: Exploring the universe.Favorite places: Australia & The Bahamas. Background: Varied, but includes the military, financial, high-technology, cartooning, and writing.
