About this ebook
A lone man stands behind the bars, inside the cage but he is not a prisoner, he is at work. His name is Mikey Lee Ray and he is a gaming attendant, has been for almost five years and in that time he has pretty much seen it all. But changes are coming, big changes which will surprise even him.
This is a tale of twists and turns where strange and bizarre characters are the norm and where weird situations are the every day occurrence. In between trying to juggle jobs, promote his writing and stay off the booze and away from the video games Mikey does his best to find love.
There are of course certain hazards to working in gambling, aside from the whining and bitching of the old folks who play the slot machines and who routinely lose all their money to it. Number one being that one of these days some short tempered individual will walk into Mikey's place of work and demand 'all the money and now' and who will use a gun to back up his argument.
With Pacino, Jessie, Tyler and others in tow, Mikey's world is a surreal and yet also believable place, a place where you can find yourself completely immersed without noticing as you read the entries and get sucked in to the story of our hapless narrator.
For Mikey it's a year without booze and a year without video games. A time to let go of some addictions while watching as others are routinely and dully consumed by theirs on a daily basis on the job.
Mikey Lee Ray
Hi there, Mikey Lee Ray here. I've been passionate about my writing since I started working on my first novel 'Pandora's Market' (published under the name Matthew Schafer in 2006). Since then I've published two full length e-books on Smashwords the first being 'Confessions of a Gaming Attendant' a diary / fiction piece where the protagonist works in the gambling industry and 'How to Lose Money and Irritate People.' While the second e-book had a similar story line it was more comedy based and descends often into fantasy and farce whereas 'COAGA' is more serious. I began writing LSD at the end of 2012 and am now in the process of editing and re-working the first issues so that we can re-release them and then continuing on with new ones once this is done. I hope that you will take a look at some of these stories as I pride myself on my unique writing style, perspective and life experience. I look forward to hearing your feedback if you have read something I've written. - Sincerely, Mikey
