In 200 words: Jeremy (Jem) Barnes was born in Watford, son of a not very successful salesman and an accomplished local businesswoman. On leaving school he sold life assurance for a while before joining the Theatre in Education Team at Watford’s Palace Theatre,. He trained as a drama teacher at Bretton Hall. On graduation he ran the Basingstoke’s Drama Centre where he masterminded the world’s first Pantomime Horse of the Year Show and events like Eric’s Insides and Rebirth, large-scale models of the human digestive system and the female reproductive system respectively. At the West End Centre in Aldershot, he promoted theatre companies like Theatre de Complicite, The Snarling Beasties, and The Right Size and bands like The Stone Roses, The Real Sounds of Africa and Dumpy’s Rusty Nuts! An eclectic arts mix for sure, He became Communications Manager for a regional charity spetializing in written communications of all kinds. He lives in Hindhead, Surrey, UK.with artist wife, Susan. Jem's disability (MS) gives him a strong interest in NHS and disability matters. Now in semi-retirement, he has specialised in Volunteering and Communication. He is a general computer enthusiast having taught "Computers for the Clueless" all over the area. SIXTY SECOND FICTION is his first publication.
