Hello! I'm glad you've stopped to read my bio. We all usually start with 'our backgrounds' when introducing ourselves, so I may as well not flaunt tradition and do the same. Bear with me! So,my background is in the health industry (general and midwifery nursing), but my passion for writing, learning and research goes back a little further than that. Entering and then winning a writing competition as a child was the hook for me and how I began a life long love of writing. My tertiary studies, undertaken during a break from my nursing career was also in the subject area of - yes, you guessed it - literature. So I've had experiences and educaton, which has been wonderful, however I am also a very big believer in self education (and life lessons) and this is my focus of interest now. Much of this self education has come from right here, on the internet. In fact I have spent the last 18 months, exploring and learning about many topics including self development, writing and now publishing! Although I am more than pleased that this has led me to publish my first health and fitness book,I am also very grateful for the personal value it has added to to my life in other ways. Not only have I become somewhat of an everyday expert in the areas of nutrition, weight loss motivation, fitness and behavioural change psychology, but I have also grown as a writer and as an individual. I now continue to write on my blog, entitled MUSINGS OF AN EVERYDAY WEIGHT LOSS GURU, which you are very welcome to visit. Thanks for reading and for visiting my profile page. I have lots more to share with you in my book and I hope that we can continue the conversation amongst it's pages. PS By the way I may have neglected to mention that my passion and enthusiasm for writing about weight loss grew as I travelled my own weight loss journey, overcoming many of the struggles and challenges we all face on that road. Overcoming these setbacks then was the catylst for wanting to help others do the same. Thus, Reframe Weight Loss - How To Awaken Your Mind and Spirit To Create Weight Loss For Life, came to be.

Author’s Note
Reframe Weight Loss is a book that will change your views about weight loss.
So often the thoughts people have about weight loss are negative. They think, presume and act as if trying to lose weight will be difficult, slow, hard for them to commit to and so on.
With thoughts like these, it’s no wonder so many of us fail! How could you ever be successful at something that you (in your subconscious mind at least) are already committed to not achieving? Believe it or not, that is exactly what many of us do. We’ve failed even before we begin!
It’s a fair enough mistake to make however, when we consider that there is such a vast weight-loss ‘industry’ out there, selling and pushing every ‘solution’ from pills and fat-burning agents to detox programs, hypnosis and more. Weight loss must be hard, mustn’t it?
Somehow in that great matrix we call society, teams of ‘experts’ have managed to indoctrinate us so much that we now take it as a ‘given’ that losing weight will be a struggle, and worse that we may not get there without the latest pill, potion or new-found method.
I believe this thinking to be erroneous!
I too was once caught up by such theories, but through a lot of self-education and firsthand experience I have learnt to think differently.
I now know that there is a more inspired and freeing weight-loss path to follow, and that weight loss is not just about the physical aspect of yourself.
It is also about enhancing and healing the many parts of you that are crying out for you to listen to them. It is about learning, growing, changing and ultimately getting to your goal and staying there.
I am so glad you have bought this book, giving me a chance to share these insights and help you address some of the most important concerns you may have as you embark on your own weight-loss journey.
So thank you for getting yourself a copy of this book, however it is that it has come to you.
I believe this book will make a real difference on your journey and that you must be ready to change or you wouldn’t have bothered to read this far! This is great news, as your own curiosity is signalling that you are already on the path of change!
No doubt as you pass through this first stage of positive change, however, one I call ‘the exploration phase’, you will be experiencing all sorts of emotions and feelings. Some may well be uncomfortable ones, but rest assured that this will pass as we begin together on your own road to personal transformation and self-improvement.
You now have, in this book, a constant companion tool to assist you, support you and boost your confidence whenever you need it most.
Reframe Weight Loss will be, for you, a readily available point of reference, especially during those times when your chaotic, ever-changing internal chatter distracts you from the most important thing for you to keep in focus: your health!
My style of writing in this book is also deliberate. I have written all the information, all the tips, tools and techniques that you will need in a way that will not only inform, but will also awaken and activate your mind and spirit.
At times this awakening may take the form of you feeling that your ‘buttons’ are being pushed, or more often, you may feel that a ‘light bulb’ has illuminated in your mind. Whatever way ‘it’ arrives, I know that if you fully participate in the way this book calls you to, you too will gain some valuable insights and understandings about your current behaviours and beliefs.
Thanks for listening and welcome to a new way to ‘be’.
May I also just take a moment to introduce you to a new ally, someone you may think you are well acquainted with, someone who has been there for you all along but perhaps you’ve never really made the most of? And, no, it’s not me: it’s YOU.
To find out more, read on, dear friend… I wish you well.
A Few Thoughts to Consider Before We Begin
At times, it was tempting for me to title this book, Your Slim Self in Seven Days – now that would fly off the cyber shelves! It seems (if the diet shakes and pills industry is any indication) that we can all be a little tempted to try the quick-fix easy solution to our weight-loss problems.
Maybe it’ll work.
Maybe we won’t have to.
The truth however, is that for long-term healthy maintainable weight loss, changes need to be made over time. The good news though is that change, although we
