Introduction

My first book of postcards, Postcards from Heaven, was a joy to write. In fact, I wrote most of it during my early-morning quiet times, never dreaming it would become a book!

Within a short time after it was published, I began hearing from people whose lives were being touched by those short, personal messages from God. There was Ruby from Washington, D.C., whose son had been shot and killed in an unsolved murder. While reading the postcards, Ruby said, it was as if she could hear God talking to her personally. He didn’t explain why it happened, she said. He just let me know how much he loves me, and he told me to trust him.

There was Terri from San Antonio, who sent the book to her brother who is ill with a life-threatening disease. It is the only book I’ve of God’s love for him in a noncondemning way, Terri explained. I knew God loved him and longed for him to know, but he could never hear it until now.

There was Luann, a thirty-seven-year-old wife and mother of three from Wisconsin, who wrote to say that Postcards from Heaven had been by her bedside through four hospitalizations for incurable cancer. She added that she had even ordered 350 copies of the book to be given out to friends and loved ones at her funeral, which she called her Celebration of Victory2 (Later I heard from Luann’s husband, Mark, who described the gracious way she had died and the beautiful funeral where the Postcards books were given out.)
