- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great ending to this series, in this book we finally find out what happens to Perry. I would say for the most part loose ends were tied up but there are stila few things I wonder about. I really came to care for a lot of the characters and hope that somehow they might how up in another book someday.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In this third book of a most intriguing trilogy, readers finally learn exactly how Perry met his end. But almost more interesting than solving the questions about his demise are the relationships between the characters in the book. When an Amish and an Englisher become attracted to each other, to further the relationship one or the other must change. This is a problem that confronts more than one couple in this novel. And still others must accept what has happened in their community and rise above it, forgiving the guilty and accepting forgiveness. And yet others must go against family wishes to fulfill their own happiness. This well-written series ends with a satisfying conclusion, even if some questions are not fully answered.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Found: The Secrets of Crittenden CountyShelley Shepard GrayBook Summary: A murder is solved and a quiet Amish community must deal with the repercussions. Amid the surprising revelations, can a newfound love survive? As the search for Perry Borntrager's killer continues, Jacob Schrock feels like his world is about to crumble. Right before Perry went missing, he and Jacob got into a fistfight. Jacob never told anyone what happened that terrible night. He's good at keeping secrets-including his love for Deborah, Perry's sister. But when Deborah takes a job at his family's store and their friendship blossoms, Jacob senses everything is about to be revealed. Deborah has been searching for a slice of happiness ever since her brother's body was discovered. When the police start questioning Jacob, Deborah can't believe that the one person she's finally allowed in could be the one responsible for her brother's death. Will she believe what everyone seems to think is the truth . . . or listen to her heart, and hope there is still one more person who is keeping secrets in Crittenden County?Review: I really have enjoyed the entire trilogy. So much has changed since the series began. I laughed and cried when the mystery was solved. The people kept their secrets close to their hearts. It was an emotional end and everyone had a hand in the death of Perry as Deborah told her parents. It was an anticlimactic end that rounded out the mystery that loomed over so many people’s heads. I was surprised by who did it, for I had figured someone else for the murder. But as is true in life murder is passion run amok. Ms. Gray’s ending was much more realistic and tragic. It was definitely a series worth reading. Thanks for the ride Ms. Gray and making vividly real the many characters in your story.I would like to thank Edelweiss and Avon Inspire for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Surprise Ending!Found is the last book in The Secrets of Crittenden County Series. I read this book in a day and a half. I just had to find out who killed Perry Borntrager. I thought I had it figured out when I was over halfway through this book. I was wrong, wrong, wrong! It shocked me to find out who really did it.I loved the budding romances between Luke and Frannie, Walker and Lydia, and Jacob and Deborah. I do hope the author plans a book or books in the future that will let us know what happens to these characters we have come to love reading about.Author Shelley Shepard Gray has never disappointed me with her books. I loved this trilogy. The mystery, the twists, the romance was a real page turner.I can’t wait to read Daybreak. I’m sure this one will be another great page turner!
